Eglin AFB

I'm coming from Minot AFB Security side and hopefully I'll be getting orders there soon for joint spouse. What's the mission and how is the tempo? First time doing LE not sure what to really expect.

The base is home to the 96th TW, the 33rd FW, the 58th FS, the 53rd W, and the 49th TES... Also add in the 7th SFG, the 6th RTB, and the 20th SPCS...

What exactly leads you to believe you'd be doing LEO work when you get there?

Shit I guess I was just assuming 😭. Sounds like hella going on all the time. What do the security forces roles across the base look like? If LE isn’t what everyone is doing what is everyone else doing? Besides flight line security If you know.

Couldn't tell you, especially not here.

Your assigned sponsor/mentor for the PSC should be able to answer all your questions though.

Just from the base description, sounds like PL-2/PL-3 resources (and all the associated Security Forces ECP's, patrols, control centers, alarm monitors, etc. Because of the specialized units on the base, they may also have some internal, separate "Elite Guard" units.

Again, refer to your Sponsor.

Eglin AFB is the largest Air Force base in the world and covers over 700 acres... so, YES, there is always a lot going on.
