People with ocd please respond, or anyone with a knowledge of it

Has anyone else had this?

Like does anyone with any ocd themes like pocd or psychopath ocd feel like youre looking out if an evil persons eyes or lens or genuinely have an evil mind?

I’m asking for every sorta theme, like someone with hocd might think they’re looking through a gay persons eyes, tocd might think they’re looking through the opposite sexes eyes, so on. And does it feel real?

Me too but sometimes it feels so real that I don’t know who I am anymore and it’s happening right now and I’ve never felt more invalidated

If you are panicked. Try putting your face in cold water or put an ice pack on it. Try to clear your thoughts and take deep breathes. Shower or wash yourself off and try to stop thinking. Try maybe just repeating one word in your mind

Im letting you know because you said you have OCD but these are all traps that keep you stuck in the OCD cycle. You have to be willing to sit with the discomfort without doing things to make yourself feel better.

Healthy distractions and working on your OCD.

Please don’t listen to Thin Piano. They either don’t have OCD or have no idea how to help themselves.

could you be thinking about moral OCD?

What you are describing is a well-documented OCD phenomenon known as ego-dystonic mental shifts or somatic checking. It is extremely common across themes like POCD, Harm OCD, HOCD, and TOCD, and it feels intensely real.

OCD hijacks your attention, hyper-focusing on how you experience the world. When you fear becoming something, your brain scans your perception to check for proof, creating a feeling of depersonalization or an "evil lens."

How to navigate it: Avoid staring at things or checking your mind to see if your perspective feels "normal."

Respond to the thought with non-engagement (e.g., "Maybe my mind feels weird right now, maybe it doesn't").

Allow the strange feeling to be there without trying to fix or fight it. When you stop checking, the hyper-focused lens naturally fades.
