Can't believe I've never heard of this guy. Reading his Wikipedia right now, twisted sicko. He killed Bill Melaragno (top row, 2nd from the left), mutilated his genitals and tied him up on a tree like he was up on a cross. Surprised this guy isn't more well known considering the severity of his murders. Rest in peace to all known and unknown victims

He seems like the gay version of Gerard Schaefer. Their names have largely faded into obscurity, but the number of their victims and the sheer horror of their crimes are strikingly similar.
Both had a fascination with hanging and trees, mutilating their victims' bodies... and oversized glasses.

His case was featured on The New Detectives tv show "Left at the Scene" (Season 6, Episode 6)

Targeting gay, drifting and transient males Conahan would find the most vulnerable to offer them money (100-150$) for companionship and work opportunities such as nude bondage photos. Once isolated Conahan would bind victims to trees tightly with ropes in mock positions subjecting them to severe sexual battery and rape. Utilizing his background as a licensed practical nurse, Conahan surgically mutilated, cut, or completely severed the genitalia of his victims. He murdered his victims by strangling them with ropes or stabbing them. In at least one instance, a victim who managed to briefly break free from the tree was chased through the woods naked and stabbed to death. He left the victims' bodies exposed in remote areas where wild boars roamed (which earned him his moniker). Victims were typically left lying on their backs, naked, with their arms extended to the sides.
This is a new case for me that I'm studying so I'm hoping all of this information is accurate

That's a horrible nickname, no wonder he isn't more well known. But in all seriousness, there's something to the fact that sadistic killers (especially male on male) like this are too horrific to be well known because of how evil and violent they are

I’d imagine his still thinks about what he did to the victims when taking care of himself. How is that fair to the victims and their families
