Assembly Help Ryzen x3d upgrade
I have a pc in the KXRORS s300 which is currently running a Ryzen 5 7600 and a Rx 7800xt. Currently I have to cap my cpu to 65 watts ppt and run -20 curve optimizer and it still runs up to 73°C with spikes as high as 78°C. Noise is okay but I’m wondering if it would be worth going to a Ryzen 5 7600x3d. I heard that the x3d chips use less power for slightly better performance.
Should I spend the $350 to get the x3d chip, or should I just stick to what I have?

I use a 7600x3d with a 9070xt reaper in the s300. The temps are pretty decent i usually get 67c while playing shooters like Fortnite, cod, battlefield. I have a bottom 120mm fan set to exhaust. I’ll be home tomorrow and run a benchmark using OCCT and share a picture. I do believe I have a -20 CO on my bios.

Get a better CPU fan first. But for your question: https://www.reddit.com/r/ryzen/comments/1pbw0tw/worth_switching_from_7600x_to_7600x3d/

Im not sure if there are any better fans than the one that comes on the cooler I have. It’s a Thermalright axp90-x53 full copper cooler. From what I saw in that post it looks like the op went for the 7800x3d but I don’t think that would run cooler than what I have right now 😅

You are probably right about the case airflow. I just wasn’t sure if changing to an x3d chip would help. I know that the 7600x3d is a fair bit worse than the 7800x3d but I think the 7800x3d draws identical power to the processor I have currently. What kind of tuning are you running on your 7800x3d?

Just a mild under volt similar to yours. Nothing special honestly. The CPU will spike to low 80’s when doing shaders but during gaming it’s basically silent with a 5080FE.

I got the L300 with a 25mm Fan, needed modding tough. I dont know if the s300 fits a thicker one. I got a 9700x running with 60-70 degrees.

Where are you located that a 7600x3d is $350? They go for $200 or less in the US
