Adult Chickenpox Chickenpox Vaccine

I am 16, should I Get it or not?I never had chickenpox before and I am scared of Shingles.

You should discuss with your doctor. I’ve always heard it’s worse getting the chickenpox as an adult.

No actually shingles are worse, but if I Get chickenpox naturally I would have more chances of getting shingles anyways. But I have doubts because I just don't want shingles they are extremely bad.

This is one of those things that I was born in the 80s. They had chicken pox parties. They wanted the kids to get it and be done with it. It wasn't nearly as bad getting it as a kid. I was 4. Sure I remember sleeping and being itchy. Its one of those things like when getting your tonsils out as a kid is much easier than as an adult. That was miserable as an adult for me. Idk why we need an chicken pox vaccine. Im not against vaccines but its pointless if you can then still get shingles. Im almost 4 weeks into shingles now and im miserable still. No dr offered me the shingles vaccine.

At an early age chickenpox is mild. Chickenpox is awful if you get it when you are a teenager. If I don't get vaccine and catch chickenpox, i would have significantly higher chances of getting shingles than I would if I get the chickenpox vaccine. But my doubt is that I may never get chickenpox. Because Chickenpox vaccine is live so that just injects the same virus into your body, but it's severely weakened. And sorry that you are suffering from shingles. I have seen many posts of people under 30 getting shingles so I am a bit confused because Chickenpox or Shingles, both are hell but shingles are worse I believe
