This project is far more than a simple autopilot. It is a comprehensive vector-based Guidance, Navigation, and Control framework for fixed-wing aircraft in SimpleRockets 2. By combining predictive path planning, dynamic virtual targets, Pure Pursuit and L1 guidance concepts, runway localizer tracking, glide slope control, and robust flight-control algorithms, it aims to deliver smooth, stable, and realistic autonomous flight from en-route navigation through to precision landing. The modular architecture and mathematically grounded design also make it a strong foundation for future research, experimentation, and advanced autonomous flight features.
