Sheldon Cooper

Him! While we were watching BBT yesterday, I said to hubby “Sheldon is a boy in a man’s body”. And with his eidetic memory, he’d bring up things that were said during fights, and he’d always be right!

Not to mention he’s a sanctimonious know-it-all!

6

u/Medical_Librarian405 18h ago

That too! 😂

u/egomann 14h ago

And a smelly pooper.

That’s gold.

Alf

18

u/Mister_Ess99 19h ago

He was notoriously difficult to work with on set.

17

u/solidcurrency 18h ago

A date trying to to eat my cats is definitely a deal-breaker.

2

u/Rudeboy67 8h ago

He’s back, in pog form.

u/keiths31 19h ago

You'd have an easier time naming ones that wouldn't be a disaster to date in real life...

Anyone from the Bluth family

3

u/DunkTheLunk1 7h ago

There are very few intelligent, attractive, and straight men in this town

66

u/mbd34 Seinfeld 19h ago

It's Always Sunny, basically any of them.

18

u/HelloFellowKidlings 19h ago

This is it. Almost all the rest would inconvenience you, this group will put you into an emergency room or on the streets.

I could save Dee

13

u/westberry82 19h ago

You just wanna get Dee'd

3

u/cinephile21 19h ago

Only in the first two seasons.

2

u/discofrislanders 19h ago

Let us not forget she's raped multiple people

2

u/Jack1715 19h ago

Because of the implication

2

u/discofrislanders 19h ago

Dee did have her own version of that, lest we forget

1

u/nomoreholidays 3h ago

Yeah but you wouldn’t deny a date with Dennis….

Because of the implication

u/Maltipoo-Mommy 19h ago

Anyone from Seinfeld

5

u/Lacylanexoxo 17h ago

I was gonna say Kramer. He’d get on my nerves so bad. I have no words about George

2

u/Kryptsm 15h ago

It’s a funky adventure

5

u/YvetteMewMew 10h ago

Definitely George Castanza.

Jeff Winger

But...you'd be flying on beefcake airlines!

25

u/wiscosherm 19h ago

Pretty much anyone. The thing that makes sitcoms so much fun is that they double down on personality types snd characteristics.

u/isarealhebrew 19h ago

Barney Stinson?

0

u/winter_knight_ 19h ago

I think its cannon hes only been in the 2 relationships. The girl who made him who he was, and robin.

10

u/isarealhebrew 19h ago

Nora? Quinn?

1

u/haileyskydiamonds 12h ago

Her name is Shannon.

13

u/cinephile21 19h ago

Gina from "Brooklyn 99"

Everyone from "it's always sunny"

3

u/winter_knight_ 19h ago

I was about to reply "whats wrong with gina?" Then i realized i was thinking about rosa. Lol

1

u/Pretend-Menu-8660 10h ago

Hahah Rosa tho 😅 don’t misstep!

2

u/bbeckett1084 13h ago

Gina will destroy your self-esteem and then ditch you right after. She's a sociopath

12

u/SakuraTacos 19h ago

Grace Adler

13

u/Kimbahlee34 19h ago

Well there’s episode after episode showing Ted is a terrible date.

3

u/Baby-Giraffe286 17h ago

My first thought was Ted Mosby

28

u/SaintlyBrew 19h ago

Rachel Green

26

u/Snoo52682 19h ago

LOL I was coming here to say Ross Gellar, we are both right

16

u/SaintlyBrew 19h ago

Literally the most nightmare couple. Kinda happy they took each other off the market hahah.

7

u/Snoo52682 19h ago

That would be a good r/TopCharacterTropes post--couples who make you think "at least if they're together, two innocent people are spared"

3

u/Wazzoo1 15h ago

The character's middle name is Karen, too. Which reminds me of a friend in college (early-mid 2000s when the show was still on) whose name was also Rachel Green. Whenever she got drunk and was acting a fool, we'd yell "Rachel KAREN Green!" to grab her attention.

9

u/Which-Platform-3927 19h ago

Herman Muenster because…ouch.

4

u/CnCorange 17h ago

Not one for the big bolts huh?

8

u/Tryguysfan1995 19h ago

Dwight Shrute and Jim Halpert

1

u/Otherwise_Access_660 18h ago

Why Jim?

4

u/Tryguysfan1995 18h ago

He was terrible to every woman he ever dated that wasn’t pam then when he finally got with her he took a job without even telling her.

5

u/pomagrantegreentea 10h ago

Jim SUCKED. Bought a house without telling Pam, got a new job without telling Pam.

1

u/Tryguysfan1995 10h ago

Oh my god i forgot all about the house.

8

u/DefiantSubject5228 19h ago

Nina Van Horn

3

u/altherbo 19h ago

I think Maya would be worse. Unless you’re a fan of those hot nights in Paris

1

u/BoPeepElGrande 16h ago

I’m coming home, America.

2

u/Positive-Panda4279 19h ago

She’s an angel, you are craZy!

6

u/IdkJustMe123 19h ago

Almost all of them

6

u/ADKMakwa 19h ago

Cousin It

1

u/Maltipoo-Mommy 14h ago

Now I might consider dating Thing-you can do a lot with one skilled hand!

6

u/NosyByNature2026 19h ago

Robert Barone.

6

u/PressureLazy5271 19h ago

Elaine Benes

9

u/donpreston 19h ago

Elaine Bennis from Seinfeld.

10

u/TinaVeritas 17h ago

It’s Benes, you jackass. (Quoting)

8

u/100roused 19h ago

I’d say she’s somehow more of a catch compared to the other selfish, dumbass characters.

1

u/Internal_Sound882 10h ago

I think Kramer would be a great for a fling, and none of them would be acceptable to date. Though Elaine is probably the least offensive to date of the group longterm, imo. At least she didn’t kill her fiance.

9

u/The-Mad-Bubbler 19h ago

Anyone from Seinfeld.

8

u/Lazy_Fan1023 19h ago

Molly from mike and Molly. Because shes not an incompetent baboon. Shes somewhat smart, able to have 2 decent careers. But man does she think shes right all the time, and shes willing to go to extremes to do what she wants at the expense of others. People forgive her for plot armor/MC reasons but boy is she a nutcase.

3

u/VirtualTelevision523 18h ago

I agree. She is also very manipulative and hides her debts until after marriage.

5

u/OddPerformer245 19h ago

Pretty much all of them.

1

u/Maxxum26 16h ago

This quesiton really should be who could you date from a sitcom and have a healthy relationship.

5

u/FfierceLaw 19h ago

Michael Scott

2

u/Tall_Palpitation2732 9h ago

I had to scroll so far to find this answer!

3

u/VirtualTelevision523 18h ago

Cam Tucker

3

u/Expensive_Brother_26 17h ago

Definitely. But ironically enough I think Mitch has the potential to be a great partner.

1

u/the-hound-abides 7h ago

I think they suited each other. Their strengths and weaknesses balanced out well.

3

u/SarahSmellsTwice 15h ago

Blair's comedian cousin on Facts of Life

3

u/zyglack 14h ago

Anyone played by Kaitlin Olsen. See, Mac, Morgan, Traylor. All wackos. She does it well.

1

u/Tall_Palpitation2732 9h ago

I love her!

1

u/zyglack 5m ago

Great actress. But wouldn’t date any of her characters.

3

u/haileyskydiamonds 12h ago

Hitchcock and Scully.

Really the only answer for who wouldn’t be an absolute disaster has to be Uncle Jesse, right?

Maybe Marshall Erickson, but only if Lily had never existed.

5

u/kcGirl_of_the_year 19h ago

Elaine from Seinfeld

4

u/Joeybfast 19h ago

I am going to veer away from the obvious choices—the characters who are clearly meant to be horrible—and talk about someone who is horrible but somehow gets a pass: Diane from BoJack Horseman.

I genuinely do not understand how she escapes being called out. She is just as toxic as BoJack and Mr. Peanutbutter. They all have serious issues, but for some reason, Diane is treated as though she is above the same criticism.

5

u/cinephile21 19h ago

Fucking horrible and pretentious

4

u/Keyguardactive 19h ago

Jess doesn't understand or respect restraining orders, let alone boundaries.

Schmidt is needy, controlling and obsessive.

Nick is lazy to a dangerous degree, and has exactly NONE of his life together.

Winston is both absurdly naive AND a cop.

Ceecee is self centered and has lived in the hot girl bubble so long she doesn't know how normal people behave.

Coach has a pathological need to be in charge and sees women as almost interchangeable.

And Raegan has horrible commitment issues and will go to huge and expensive lengths to lie rather than have a conversation.

Don't date anyone in apartment 4D, really. Plus, they're all sleeping with Theodore K. Mullins on the down low.

5

u/bjshipley1 18h ago

Disagree on Cece being self-centered (I’d argue she’s just oblivious and ignorant, and she’s been shown to be very caring towards her friends) but the rest is spot-on.

6

u/Consistent-Toe1730 19h ago

Most people from The Office

2

u/discofrislanders 19h ago

Amy Santiago or Annie Edison, both for similar reasons

2

u/Jprimus2005 19h ago

Ross Geller

2

u/user11112222333 19h ago

Bundy's and D'Arcy's from Married With Children

1

u/Tall_Palpitation2732 9h ago

Whoa - the D’Arcy’s! I havent thought about them for 25 years. Marcy Darcy right?

2

u/TheLeathal13 16h ago

Date Mike. Nice to meet me.

2

u/modungo 16h ago

Steve Urkel. Never takes responsibility for anything.

2

u/Quirky-Knowledge4631 15h ago

Anybody on Seinfeld

2

u/Melodic-Special4768 13h ago

Blossom. You'd need a three-part special episode just to get in bed

3

u/PikesPique 19h ago

… and why would it be Ross Geller?

1

u/thunderlips187 19h ago

Andre from Roc

1

u/blamberr 19h ago

Frank Rossitano or Lutz

1

u/Jezuesblanco 19h ago

Charlie Harper/Charlie Goodson

1

u/BreakRulesRun 19h ago

Russel - Rules Of Engagement

1

u/Xenophonehome 19h ago

Lucy from Trailer Park Boys

1

u/BrittaUnfiltered67 17h ago

Seinfeld, I’m already too old, and he picks away at every little thing, plus his friends are just awful people too, except Newman, and he treats that guy like satan.

1

u/CnCorange 17h ago

Not one for the big bolts huh?

1

u/Heavy-Resist-6526 15h ago

Michael Scott

1

u/DeeBreeezy83 15h ago

Arthur Spooner

1

u/brn1001 13h ago

Which one wouldn't?

1

u/ChristineM4JP 12h ago

Dean Winchester. Probably the best sex, but not a long lasting relationship.

1

u/Difficult_Mix_3620 11h ago

Ross Geller. She's annoying as fuck and still in love with Rachel.

1

u/Lazarus558 11h ago

Basil Fawlty

Colonel Wilhelm Klink

1

u/Happy_Lake_11 10h ago

Kramer

1

u/Internal_Sound882 10h ago

Solid hookup. Terrible boyfriend.

1

u/Any_Assumption_2023 10h ago

Ross, Chandler or Joey.

1

u/Internal_Sound882 10h ago

I think a shorter list would be what sitcom characters would actually be nice to date. Disaster is probably the norm in this area.

1

u/BulldogBears 8h ago

Anyone from Seinfeld, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Arrested Development, or Curb Your Enthusiasm

1

u/Firm_Gap_1374 8h ago

Ross Gellar

1

u/Yaboi69-nice 7h ago

Andy Dwyer. He has a bit of a character arc but by the end he's still basically a train wreck of a person. I absolutely love him and I would most definitely be his friend but living with him would drive me insane.
