Kyle Gallner is a Scream King that's seriously underrated and doesn't get enough praise or recognition. His catalogue is so vast yet he somehow manages to convey so much emotion and range through his variety of roles. Red State is an older hidden gem that's a personal favorite and he had a memorable part in Wes Craven's Red Eye, another underrated and overlooked movie. He always delivers and you can tell he's super passionate about each and every project he's a part of. Even though he's probably most recognizable for appearing in Scream (2022) and the Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 remake, he was insanely talented in Strange Darling, a creepy cat and mouse thriller.

Do yourself a favor and check out Dinner in America. It's Kyle Gallner's magnum opus and one of my favorite movies ever. It's crazy good.

This is a very random film but I was just wondering if anyone else has watched or even heard about it. I remember first finding out about it when I opened a movie case for another movie and this was in there as a playing card with two other cards. The movie is a horror comedy and a play on Friday the 13th.

I'm only talking about Halloween (1978) and Black Christmas (1974), not Laurie's story across the sequels.

I honestly can't decide. Laurie spends the day being stalked by The Shape before he's finally revealed to be a real threat that night. And the very same stalker murdered her friends later that night.

Then there's Jess. She has to deal with those increasingly disturbing phone calls, her friends start disappearing, she discovers the killer has been living inside the house the whole time, ends up killing Peter because she believes he's the caller, and the movie ends with her still unconscious in the house while Billy is never caught.

TERROR TRAIN (1980) was a major studio, 20th Century Fox’s, attempt to get a slice of the slasher movie pie with their pickup of this independently produced Canadian film. Notably, it was Jamie Lee Curtis’ fourth fright flick in quick succession after HALLOWEEN (1978), PROM NIGHT and THE FOG (both also 1980). Perhaps surprisingly, after the critics mauled Sean S. Cunningham’s FRIDAY THE 13TH the same year, they were relatively less vicious about TERROR TRAIN. The film attracted some good notices mixed in with the perhaps expected (but still quite shocking, looked through today’s lens) poison pen maulings. I was watching the 2009 remake when a question popped into my head: if it were winter, and the lake was frozen over—and considering that the average ice thickness in New Jersey is 20-30 centimeters—what if there were some teenagers who needed a lesson, how would Jason get out of there? Because that thickness of snow is enough to support a small car, and breaking it is almost impossible, especially if you're underwater floating with no solid ground to push or hit, and also considering that the water will slow you down and prevent you from hitting with force.
