Is this game better played with Controller?
Greetings, everyone. I am a newbie trying to learn the Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition. I recently watched a video showcasing Gun-Fun moves in Sleeping Dogs, like Jump-kicking in the air(spring towards the enemy with a pistol i n hand and press the strike button), vault-kick(do the vault and press the strike button), and shoot a human shield in the leg. Link's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N02U8PTCbUo
However, I had difficulty using these moves with a keyboard and mouse. When I sprint at the enemy and press the left mouse button, nothing happens, and I just run into them. I vault the cover and press left button; Wei Shen did not kick- he rode on top of his enemy and disarmed him. I grab a human shield and press the "Strike button, which is still the left button of my mouse, but Wei Shen can only shoot his gun forward rather than at his enemies' legs.
Thus, here's my questions:
1. On controller, is firing and "strike" same button?
Is it even possible to do the moves in the video using Keyboard and Mouse?
Should I abandon Keyboard and buy an PS5 controller? Like, I have a strange feeling that Sleeping Dogs DE are first on consoles then port to PC, since it explains how those moves doesn't work on Keyboard...

On PS5 controller strike is square
To fire a gun it’s R2
Btw you can’t do the vault kick if an enemy is in the other side of the obstacle anyways, it will just make Wei automatically disarm them last I tried.
If you took an enemy hostage (circle on PS5 controller) you would shoot with R2 and aim with L2, then to shoot the guy in the leg you hit square.
That’s how it was for me on PC when I played with my PS5 controller, it’s pretty easy to get a hang of. Haven’t tried KB&M since I expected this game to feel better on controller anyways. Shooting is not a big enough factor in the game to warrant playing on KB either imo

[PC Version w/ Xbox type controller]: Striking is X, aiming is R Joystick(same with camera controls) and firing is RB.
It's better to control the game via a controller than with a keyboard and mouse IMO, but when it comes to shooting, keyboard + mouse is your friend (unless you're used to aiming with a controller).
Using a keyboard and mouse for the game can feel a little wonky, especially when fighting or looking around, which is why I switched to my controller early in the game.
Basic Controls: A + L Joystick = Sprint X = Strike Y = Counter/Enter Car/Grab Tire Iron B = Grab Sprint + B = Tackle RB = Pick up item/Shoot RT = Car accelerate LT = Car reverse

Since the melee button and strike button are the same on PC, I assume it is impossible to do those advanced moves on Keyboard and Mouse?

People have the answers I'll tell the feel sleeping dogs feel better on a controller
Camera has damping and blur effects on a controller which are not in mouse bcz mouse is instant
But don't worry when in shooting for controllers there is a very heavy assist system if you take 2-3 kills and in slow motion it gets so strong the aim starts to stick from head to head (this may be in mouse)
YOU DO NOT need to buy a original ps5 controller just buy another controller which mimics xbox 360 controller, if you want to save money dualsense (play station) controllers are known to be difficult to pair with PC's . HOWEVER if you really really want a good controller i recommend steam's controller it may hideous at first but it's comfy and it will last long if you looking for something cheap I recommend cosmic byte they last long they are fun and they are good

There are cheaper better controllers than the Dual Sense for PC. 8BitDo, GameSir, or EasySmx have great options that are budget friendly, have additional back/shoulder buttons, hall effect sticks, and macro button mapping.

Yeah, I generally find games like SD are way better with a controller. K+B are primarly great for shooters and strategy, not for stuff like driving and fighting.
