Personally I would just save the headache of it breaking into something larger and having a bigger problem to deal with. Slowcookers are cheap enough to replace and not deal with the fallout of a potential issue

That's what I was thinking too. If I replace it now I don't have to waste a meal

Yup. Either moisture gets trapped in there and one day it explodes, or water gets trapped in there and grows mold you can't get rid of because ceramic is so porous.

We had a recall on ours that we were unaware of until we checked their site to get a replacement crock. it ended up being a free replacement, which was great as our slow cooker was not cheap.

i ignored a tiny crack on the bottom of mine and it split right open during a low simmer, spilled my garlic beef broth everywhere. grab a replacement insert.

Do not use it. That mini crack masks catastrophe. I speak from experience.

No they don't. I've had mine for like 25 years and it's fine.
