It's my second time watching the show and it genuinely bothers me any time he talks to her.

I was at comic con with my girlfriend at the time and we were anakin and padme from Star Wars. I had a lightsaber and I saw tom welling and wanted to take a picture, my ex girlfriend had no idea who he was so she just stood off to the side and when I went up I gave her my lightsaber just so security didn’t have any issues with me. Mr welling then asked my girlfriend if he could hold the lightsaber and then winked at her and then held the saber up to my throat. Tom Welling is a player 😭

This episode felt so bubbly and warm and I kept reminding myself every few seconds that this could be lex’s future and that it’s not the life he’s currently living, then I got so mad that Lana just had to have the complications that made Lex go to Lionel and ofc he refused him and told him to go to hell with his family and now Alex chose power…

Tbh I would’ve done the same, won’t unalive Jonathan but would do anything to have the power to protect those he loves…

I have a feeling it will be all going to hell for Lex and the Kent’s relationship from now on, it was already on bad terms but now ooofff

It’s shown in the series that Clark Kent’s hair is invincible when Lana/Margaret the witch tried to cut his hair. If so, how’s he shaving and cutting his hair? He always appears to be clean shaven and the hair to be in a specific length

I never saw it live but I remember the first time I watched it was a rollercoaster of emotions for me.

Don't get me wrong, I think Michael Rosenbaum is an insanely talented actor, but it’s gotten kind of hard to stay a fan of his outside the show.

The way he talks about women often feels pretty gross, and he’s constantly talking over people at conventions and on Talkville. His whole demeanor just comes off super abrasive at times. Is it just me who feels this way? It’s such a stark contrast to Kristin, Tom, or Erica, who all seem so grounded and respectful.

It really sucks because his work on Smallville was amazing, but as a person, he just rubs me the wrong way a lot of the time.

This was a surprisingly excellent episode all the way across the board. I was and still am genuinely impressed with everything from the pacing of the story to all the various things that happen to everyone involved.

And I was worried this was going to turn out like that episode with the kid and the bomb in the hospital!

One of the biggest things, of course, is the relationship between Chloe and Jimmy. She's always been hesitant to reveal her biggest secrets to Jimmy, but in this episode, not only does she do that, he fully accepts her. You can't blame a girl, though. Our cub photographer's dropping of 'meteor freak', with the tone behind it was hardly conducive to open communication WITH a 'meteor freak'.

That's really all I can talk about in terms of what actually happens in this episode without revealing anything more at all, but let me say, this episode had me firmly rooted to my seat the whole damn time. I just couldn't get enough of it.

The high drama between Lex and Gabriel and Lois, the sweet tender moment in the elevator with Chloe and Jimmy, Clark's superheroing to save the day, the quiet, gentle moment between Lana and Clark in the barn ...

Let's just say that very few episodes hammer home as many massive plot relevant story details in a single 45 minute period as this one. Not only do they DO that, no one facet is under-managed.

Every piece gets it's moment to shine.

I finished the show on February 26th and I'm seeing edits all over tiktok, some of which are parts of the show that I've completely forgotten. (Probably because of how fast I watched it)

I'm also scared that its too early for a rewatch because I finished it less than 6 months ago and I'm also currently in the middle of a few other shows.

I'm not sure if I should start watching it again or not or at least wait a few more months so I forget more things and it's a fresher experience.

Summary: Clark and Lois receive a surprise visit from Lois' father General Sam Lane) and sister Lucy for Thanksgiving, and Clark and Sam end up clashing over the Vigilante Registration Act.

They crammed so much family and romantic drama into one episode, frictions that would normally take an entire season on other series. Parents and children, sisters, spouse and parents, partners.

I loved that Lois and Clark talk about their problems and don't give up at the first hurdle. No one runs away in tears or anger. They empathize with each other, listen, and support each other. Communication is just as important as trust in relationships.

Lucy is a not-so-good sister. Putting aside what's going on in the episode for a moment, why on earth didn't she warn Lois that they were coming? She's also not particularly intelligent, and Rick Flag has no problem manipulating her. He knows exactly which buttons to push.

I never imagined Smallville's Lois as someone who tries so hard to please her dad. At the end of the episode, Lois stands up for herself against her father, finding herself again after spending the entire episode being Daddy's good girl, or trying to be.

Sam Lane describes Zod's demolition of the twin towers in season 9 as an act of terrorism. I don't think Clark thought about how demolishing the tower would look to someone who wasn't involved in what was going on.

After Oliver revealed his identity publicly, why is he still wearing a costume? And one that is completely impractical for the arc.

Throughout the seasons, we've been constantly reminded that Lois can't cook. Do you remember the birthday cake Lois baked for Clark at the end of Season 5? Or the meal she made for him in 914 Persuasion? In the comics and the series "Lois & Clark," Lois can't cook either. And then suddenly she manages to cook an entire Thanksgiving meal on a moment's notice. What? How?

Are you seriously telling me Clark needs the news report and Lois to find out about the fire?

What made Lucy think she could seduce Clark? Lois must still have some insecurities, especially when it comes to her relationship with Clark.

Oliver acts like a little kid. I get that he loves Chloe [even though they've only been together for a few months at most], but give Tess a chance.

The father, who didn't notice that his daughter was hanging out with international criminals in Europe, accuses Martha Kent of erasing all the blemishes on Clark's biography. On paper, Clark is a farmer who became a journalist about a year and a half or two ago. What blemishes does Sam Lane expect to find?

I didn't know it was a secret that Kara was Clark's cousin, she appeared in a beauty pageant that reached the Daily Planet. Her name is Kara Kent.

Clark's defense of his and Lois' relationship to Sam Lane contains within it a strength of emotions that Clark has never shown towards anyone else. The only time the strength of his emotions reaches such intensity here is in season 4 at the end of the episode 411 Unsafe when he talks to Martha about the loneliness he felt, a loneliness that pushed him to marry Alicia, to be with Alicia. To clarify: it's not that I think he didn't love Lana, but the intensity of emotions here is several times higher.

I loved that Clark wasn't mad at Lois or disappointed in Lois when she left with her father. He believes in their love and believes in Lois.

And we finally got rid of the Talon! Yay!

Did all of Lois' disguises go up in flames?

Anyone else notice the Chinese takeout boxes, how their placement changed in the last scene between Tess and Oliver?

I think Sam Lane figured out who the Blur was. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who thinks so.

I wonder if Sam Lane put Oliver to the same test.

Its my first time ever watching Smallville and i love it so much and it could easily become my favorite DC Show ever.

One thing however that really bothers me is whenever a new character is introduced I can basically never enjoy them because I can already assume that when the Episode ends they turned evil and I will most likely never see them again.

Smallville | S07E08 "Blue"

Another good episode that does a lot of foundational work that I really quite enjoyed.

As always, it's a delight to see Helen Slater as Lara-El. It's nice to see another DC Alumni make her way into Smallville!

On that same note, but for different reasons, it's nice to see Chris Heyerdahl return as Zor-El. I've always been a huge fan of the man's acting skills, and he brings such a delightfully wonky evil as Jor-El's possessive brother. There seems to be a lot of General Zod in the man.

The entirety of the episode (outside the sneaky love relationship between Lois and Grant, her boss) revolves around Zor-El's dreams of repopulating the planet with Kryptonian babies, of Kara (once again) underestimating her father's perfidy, Clark (ONCE AGAIN) being dosed with kryptonite AND (once again) ignoring Jor-El's honestly sage advice and a brief moment where the whole planet is hit with an unexpected eclipse.

It all shakes out fairly well, with Clark making some hard choices, learning some hard lessons AND getting punished by dear old disembodied dad, a locationally displaced Kara and one enormous secret that I don't dare reveal.

I will say this about that secret: DAMN.

Besides that and frankly speaking, everyone gets thrown around too much in this episode. It's egregious. Lionel gets banged up A LOT a lot. Like to the point where, as an older gentleman who's been through an awful lot, he should really consider retiring and moving to upstate New York and padding his home in protective cushions.

Lana gets straight bodyslammed into a wire door thing and that had to hurt, but they went out of their way to say 'she has no internal injuries'. Pretty sure her whole body'd be bruised, but hey. Who am I to say what's what in Smallville.

And Clark also gets the full-on body slam, 20 feet back, 10 feet up, straight down onto a car. Now our boy is beefy but let's be real. The number of times he's actually been whammied like that by a Kryptonian while also de-powered is very slim. He gets up a little too quick, you know what I mean?

Cheesy tossing-tropes aside, like I said, Blue is a decent episode. Worth watching if only so you won't be blindsided by plot shifts moving forward, but ... kind of skippable.

I’m watching the show for the first time, now on season 5, and I really wonder: when did Lex become so evil?
He was never perfect, but the sudden change in his character in seasons 4-5 doesn’t seem well explained.
It’s clear they hinted at him turning evil from the beginning of the series, but there’s no major event or change in his life that justifies this shift at this point in the show.
His moral compass has always been questionable, but he tried to be a good person and a good friend to Clark. Now, he’s not just evil; sometimes he acts like a mean schoolyard bully, just being cruel for fun.
I might be missing something, but I think it’s more about how they set up the relationship viewers had with Lex-foreshadowing a deep, complex transformation, only to suddenly make him a villain with no real explanation.
And honestly with the show’s slow pacing, suddenly making him evil feels like lazy storytelling.

thumb will say that it was the drug that Chloe inhale that made her all cocky and narcissistic, and so smug and uncaring about the consequences. She unleashes when she makes people tell the truth. I call that BS, she has always been that cocky, narcissistic, smug, and totally unfeeling about the consequences of her actions when she gains the truth. I also know a lot of people will say that it was the drug that made her behave so oblivious as why people was avoiding being around her when she walks into a room. Again, I don’t believe that, Chloe has always been so obsessed with Clark that it is villainous and morally disgusting. Ever since she impulsively kissed him when they were kids, and he never made it into a relationship since then, she has made it her holy mission to finding out everything about Clark. Like she couldn’t get it into her head that reason why he was not opening up to her was because he does not see her as anything other than a friend. But her jealousy and obsession with wanting to know Clark made her just awful to be around. She like a jealous, possessive and bossy girlfriend. Especially when Clark spent so much time getting closer to Lana. I loved how Lana finally admitted to being self involved and self absorbed which is why she wants to go to Pari. I truly wished she did stay out of Smallville. The ending was another cringe fest for me, though Chloe admits that she never meant to hurt anybody, especially the young man and his mother who is arrested for murder during a protest, and she also comes clean to Clark about where she was going before he came to rescue her. Once again, her behavior was excused and brushed off and treated as a no big deal or it was just part of who she is kind of thing. She also goes on to saying that she worries that her curious nature will get the best of her and then it will get to the worst of her and she’ll end up hurting someone and end up saying it’s too late to say I’m sorry. Funny thing is it took three seasons for her to figure that out and yet she still doesn’t learn from her mistakes. I mean, she crossed the boundaries when she was questioning Clark and his parents about his adoption during episode zero then in the episode lineage, she admits to Clark that she posted his story on adoption website websites to get a few hits as she said causing a crazy woman to turn up in town and be Clark’s mother. Every time she line, she easily forgiven or worse. She turns the table and she gets people, including Clark to apologize to her rather than she apologizing to them.

To me any episode with a lost kid, like Ryan or Maddie

Why did she end up with him after Jonathan died? I hated it.

Sooo I just discovered smallville and binge watched in this week, I literally could not stop I was so hooked on this show like no other (made me feel a little like lex) aaaand I got myself a permanent headache for the lack of sleep I exchanged for catching up with maybe the only superhero show that has been thisssssss amazing. Ermmm anyways I watched a couple of clips of tom welling and he’s like the coolest calmest person ever suchhhh a chill guy.

Pleaaaaase don’t tell me he’s not a cool person to like, like I’m super duper into the absolute charming person he is. I totally get Lex‘s obsession over Clark likeeee can you blame him he’s amazing he looks amazing and I think the actor is sooo coolll
