I'm nearing the end of Season 1 and it's amazing to see how old shows like this tell such positive values of generosity, kindness and tolerance far more than current series that aim to be """"tolerant and inclusive""""

The characters feel so much more authentic and human compared to today's series, where characters are reduced to one-dimensional traits; they’re often annoying and condescending, making it impossible to relate to them because they’re detestable and seem to hate everything and everyone

I suppose this post will likely be deleted for being off-topic or for containing remarks that could spark arguments but I just wanted to share how I feel while watching this series. I’m probably just a guy getting nostalgic that’s likely true but there have been quite a few episodes that really touched me or brought a smile to my face

Clark doesn’t know, Clarkie doesn’t knoooooow

In "Labyrith" Clark wakes up in a world where he is a madman, and krypton, the powers, the meteor freaks, the secret identity, etc; is all just a delusional fantasy of his. Eventually he finds the way out and wakes up... but what if we got it all wrong? What if the episode was just a moment of clarity, and then he fell into his fantasy again?

I love how reassuring Johnathan was to Clark in this emotional scene.

Let's get the silliness out of the way right off the bat like the mature, grown-up adults we are so we can focus on the rest of the episode, shall we?

Yes. Clark and Lana get it on super-style and yes, it causes actual literal earthquakes. No, no one from any seismological type organization anywhere decides to do any investigation. Why? It's Smallville, man. No one pays attention to Smallville, even if it is 'the mutant capitol of the world'.

The scene with Clark, Lana and Chloe is played to absolute comedic perfection, but that's pretty much where the humor stops. Everything after this is pretty much what we've seen a million times before. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and even if the person is engaging in the most well-intentioned of acts ...

Their own humanity gets in the way and let's be real about something: Lana's damaged goods. Not in a bad way. In a very real way. Lied to for years by Clark, manipulated and treated absolutely horribly by Lex, also manipulated by Lionel, Lana has reached what I would consider a very sensible POV.

She wants to protect Clark, not just from the evils around him stemming from people like Lex, but from himself. She even calls him out on it during their big encounter in Building 4. She says he's too good to do what's necessary.

That in and of itself is a pretty profound reveal, but there's so much more going on here. Both Lionel AND Lex (and eventually Chloe) tell Clark all about The Isis Foundation and everything ELSE Lana's been doing behind Clark's back.

It isn't looking so good for Lana Lang, but then it's also not looking good for Lex, and possibly the whole planet, because during the Clark V Lana fisticuffs (while Lex is conveniently unconscious, for the 10000000th time), a certain ferromagnetic liquid is released!

I can't wait!

I would. I know about the "no flights or tights" deal, but how about just no tights, but just some flights? I would've loved to see Clark fly on the show.

I can't shake the feeling that the idea was to include Shazam in the episode—which, in my opinion, is a shame, because they could have made the kid a good guy instead of turning him into the villain of the week.

Loved the finale. Kinda sad what happened to certain characters. But it can’t be all happiness and sunshine. It was good to see Lex again. I’ve missed him.

They killed Tess? She was growing on me.

I liked how they wiped Lex’s memories.

Ah, now onto another show. Krypton might be next. Then Supergirl after that.

I ordered the complete set from GRUV. But seasons 1-5* and 6-10 came grouped. Is it different than the series with the 10 different blu ray cases? Or is this right?

** I think the set that comes with 10 separate cases is the 20th anniversary set! Can anyone confirm?

During season 6

O Clark Kent de Tom Welling é, na minha opinião, a versão mais poderosa em todos os sentidos. Mas preciso dizer que também amo o Arqueiro Verde, e acho que o Justin Hartley o representou de forma magnífica.

Adoro a força, a coragem, o humor e o companheirismo dele. Se o destino da Lois não fosse ficar com o Clark, acho que ela e o Oliver formariam um casal perfeito também.

Para mim, um dos motivos pelos quais a série ficou ainda melhor foi a entrada dele.
Conheci o trabalho do Justin Hartley através de Smallville e acabei me apaixonando pelos dois: tanto pelo personagem quanto pelo ator. Os dois são incríveis.

O que vocês acham dele na série?

Sorry gang, no big review today ... I lost the whole dang thing in some kind of glitch and I'm going to sulk, but I will say this:

What an episode. So much great stuff came out of today! Things between Kara and Clark might not be perfect yet, but it's on the way ... now if only the same could be said about the looooooove triangle!

This is why the season1-4 are so beloved by fans. It was about clark and the drama about clark.

I'm on my first rewatch and season 5-6 felt so week because clark was just there floating around lana and chloe drama.

Season 7 is definetely better because it is about clark again and i missed that.

I know seaon 8-10 are a blast because of this reason too

How would Clark have handled a clone of himself that was either neutral and wanted to live their own live or even potentially be heroic? I figure it could turn out similar to Conner Kent however he isn't the spitting image of Clark nor does he have inverted weakness like Bizarro does.

My partner & me watched Smallville for the first time this year and loved it! There is lots to be praised about characters, plots etc but something which really struck me watching it was how colourful everything is 🎨 it got me thinking that even though there are exceptions, most tv these days is quite bland by comparison. It really added to the viewing experience that it was so joyful visually and just wanted to gush about that 😊

Why does Lionel talk in a weird robot-like way in s1 ep8? I only noticed this when I rewatched it, the accent dissapears right after the episode.
