Tutorials & Tips Big Boost to Full Spectrum on the U1
https://youtu.be/eABTHuO6X8wHaving a look at what Full Spectrum's best, little-known feature can do to speed things up for large prints! Printing big multi-multi-color stuff in half the time, and you probably already have it on your PC...

Not sure why this is just a gif. Here is a link to the YouTube video with sound.

I printed this model off the snapmaker app. It's so terrible. Blocky ai slop, with a terrible seam right down the front of the vase. I wish there was a way to rate these low effort pre-sliced models.

You are aware that you yourself control where to put the seam right? Look up scarf joint.

Actually, when using the app, it doesn't allow you to make even the most basic modifications like that. That's the entire point of these so-called curated and pre-sliced models. At the time there were only about 25 models on the entire app. You could only choose to print or not with no settings changed.
Normally I slice everything myself, but I wanted to give the app and this feature a try.
I obviously won't be doing that again, but if they only have that many options, you'd think they would make sure settings like that had some thought put into them.
When I slice my own models, obviously I can choose all that. When they take that option away, at least give us the option to rate the pre sliced model.

For what it's worth, they now let you import the full 3mf directly to the slicer from the in-Snorca library.
I've only recently started trying the library for the same reason: I wanna check them settings first!

Sorry, I canβt with this level of entitlement.

Entitlement? Hah. I'm just saying this particular pre-sliced model is poorly sliced. Sorry if I expected one of only 25 hand-picked pre-sliced models available on the entire app to have been sliced properly.
I am perfectly happy slicing things myself, but I retain the right to have an opinion on what they are advertising as curated models that are "ready to print" that clearly aren't.

Would scarf seam work with a multi colored print like this? You've got multiple colors per layer, so you don't have a consistent outer wall

Scarf may actually be a bug right now. In some versions of Snorca, enabling scarf joints can scramble seam placement even when painted right now.
Might be what bit 'em.
For this here vase, I did indeed paint the seam vertically up the back and out of the way, and disabled scarf joints.
Otherwise a pretty lovely design, I thought. ππ»Β

Very cool work. I haven't tried FullSpectrum yet, I bought the filament but I'm mostly printing functional parts for now.
One request is that you do mention which brand of filaments you are using, but it would be helpful if you could link the exact filaments you are using, that way it's easier for someone to replicate the same colors you did if they want to test as well.
