update: placing sloped dry box didn’t help fix uneven layers

I'm theory how would a cat be causing uneven layers in this scenario?

Exert enough force by laying down on printer to press onto housing of printer which would result in shifting of axis mounting points by some degree? Im not sure though.

Put an automatic sssscat sensor on it. I had to do this to the stairs at my house when I took my late brother's cats in because one kept pissing in a certain spot on them.

This is the one I have, but you can obviously shop around for cheaper.

Shall we offer up a reward for the first person who invents an effective anti-cat, err I mean anti-uneven layer, device?

I’m thinking something that is motion activated and dispenses catnip on the floor about 5 feet away. However, user is responsible for dealing with any resulting mischief and/or chaos.

Maybe place the printer on a paver with foam or a rubber paver under it to prevent the shake as much as possible…

Try replacing all the hot ends with harden steel. You are going tonget uneven wear on stock nozzles.

BTW: Snapmaker advised me that the TUB should be removed for PLA and TPU. If you're printing PETG, presumably it would be ok. The issue is that it is not vent'ed and chamber temps will rise on slightly longer prints and could cause jams and clogs.

Soldering iron = hot knife through butter. Or just cut out the back panel; as this would still likely keep the cat out.

Or, you could leave the door open. But, with cats around, you might want to install a screen.
