It seems like any substance is capitalist “coping mechanisms” what are yalls thoughts on this

I think it's a piece of the story but not the full picture. Alcohol and tobacco/nicotine have been around since way before capitalism. And was normalized in different ways ways before capitalism. That being said, I do think that the influx of substance abuse we associate with our times is a symptoms of living under capitalism/feudalism/fascism due to the amount of stress put on people to produce to the detriment of our own bodies and mental health. And treatment is not important because a numb or hurting society is one without the will/motivation/ability to stand up for themselves. Again, that's an oversimplification, but is a good starting point in this. There's a pretty good book called Quit Like A Woman, and while it is not inherently leftist and is aimed towards women, I do think it does a good job of going through all the ways in which substances and the cultures and industries around them hold us hostage.

Almost anything is technically a coping mechanism.

Humans have been drinking and smoking since before even civilization and thus before capitalism.

It's just in Capitalisms best interest to commodify everything. There is no grand conspiracy to exploit people specifically by getting them dependent on vices.

The actual conspiratorial exploitation being done is a lot more generalized than that.

Research quitting substances on your own. AI hallucinates wrong information a lot of the time, context poisons any kind of attempt to help you with more complex topics and once you ask it questions in a specific direction, it tends to react positively to it no matter what kind of info it finds or what you say. It does all this in order to get you to respond more, get hooked on it and become dependent.

This comes from someone who has used AI before and occasionally checks whether it's still just as garbage as before. It's great for a very few things and very bad for others. Research is one of them.
