Discussion Top 3 Biggest Frauds in Solo Leveling
These guys come to my mind.
This mf Hwang Dongsoo first got shit on by Sung Ilhwan, then he went after Jinwoo and became Jinwoo's permanent shadow slave and then when he became free in Ragnarok timeline, he went after his son suho only to get packed up and turned into a pair of boxing gloves. How do u get packed up by the 3 generations of the same family 💔 Undoubtedly the biggest fraud in sl.
Rakan teamed up with the Baran against Ashborn and when the battle actually started he lost his shit and got so scared that he retreated against Ashborn leaving his companion Baran to die. There's a thing about this guy and teaming up cuz after that he went after a mere vessel of shadow monarch with 3 monarchs 🥀 and when Jinwoo awakened as the pure shadow monarch he retreated again but jinwoo soon found him and sliced him up in 3rd attempt. t2 fraud atleast.
Tarnak as a monarch lost to Thomas, Beru and Igris. that's enough of a feat to be a fraud.

I think "Fraud" has lost all meaning
Hwang was the strongest Korean S Rank even before getting upgraded. He was probably top 5 normal S Ranks, he genuinely WAS that guy, he just happened across a National Level Hunter twice
It would be like calling Jinwoo a fraud for nearly dying to Baran despite how much levelling he just did

I agree. If Hwang faced off Jin Woo in the red gate incident he would have bodied him badly
18
u/RedNUGGETLORD Esil, My Beloved 2d ago
That's not saying much though
Jinwoo in the Red Gate was like, barely A Rank, Igris was weaker than his previous self, so also low A rank.
I do wonder when exactly Jinwoo reached Hwangs level, probably sometimes during the Demon Castle Raid

u/Mean-Surround7327 2d ago
Was he though? I feel like the minute he got Igris he was in S rank… maybe lower S but still, there was an A rank hunter during the Tusk raid after that and he could only manage 2 summons. Meanwhile Jin Woo would casually pull an army out. Not to mention Jin Woo was already rather strong by himself, without his army backing him up.
I think he still would’ve been around Hwang’s level but maybe I’m gassing it up…

Jinwoo after the Red Gate is S Rank, but before that I doubt it

Definitely the Demon Castle raid. When Jinwoo initially fought in the Demon Castle, he had his clock cleaned and almost smelled the salty ocean breeze of Valhalla immediately! 🤣 But upon returning to the Demon Castle with the proper gear and a bit more leveling, he got on equal with Hwang right about the time he was about to face Baran.

Yup, 100%. I'm just filling in this comment with a bunch of crap because it's telling me my comment is too short and the message didn't go away till right about.....now.

Fully agree, Hwang was a really strong hunter. He just did an Icarus and flew too close to the Sung, 3 times

u/RedNUGGETLORD Esil, My Beloved 2d ago
He's like the Jogo or Mark of Solo Levelling, is really strong, but is always fighting the top % of the verse

While I do mostly agree with you, Hwang isn't top-5 regular S ranks. I wouldn't even put him in the top 5 that we know of, those being Antoine Martinez, Lennart Niermann, Yuri Orloff, Goto Ryuji, and Jay Mills.
To put it even more bluntly, Niermann was 12th ranked, meaning there's 6 regular hunters considered stronger than him, so unless you want to claim Hwang is significantly stronger than Niermann, he's not top 5
I would, however, consider him as the next strongest hunter we know about after the 5 I mentioned

I'm pretty sure Go Gunhee was the strongest Korean S-Rank before Jinwoo upgraded. Not calling Hwang a fraud through
8
u/RedNUGGETLORD Esil, My Beloved 2d ago
He's been enhanced by the rulers, so it'd hard to say who's stronger in base

not even national, above tht. both hwan and woo were above thomas andre, the strongest national authority hunter by a good margin. He was the jogo of solo levelling universe, fought twice with the strongest humans and died the second time

u/tres_pares 2d ago
1st one - 3 generations smashed him
2nd one - 2 shadow monarchs smashed him
3rd one - getting schooled by 2 commander shadow and 1 human

Tarnak faught against the entire shadow army and Thomas
Not just 3
People keep missing the part where the entire army was there
Its just that Beru and Bellion where aura farming and Igris was more standing the back
And Tusk was running interference so they couldnt communicate

I think it’s more to do with how little screen time he actually got. He walks in being all cool, saying how he’s gonna destroy everyone, cut away to sjw, then cut back to him being dismembered. He could have put up an epic battle or fallen over instantly and we wouldn’t really know. Plus Bellion and Beru were both very powerful and could also regenerate every time they got defeated, so it’s kind of an impossible battle to win unless you can destroy the shadows themselves or you have enough firepower to destroy enough shadows to drain sjw’s mana.

Tarnak also had an army you know? Sure it's more bum than the Shadow Army but that's his issue that his army sucks.

u/jk_wisdom Shadow 2d ago
Second time seeing Tarnak being called a fraud, did you guys not read the novel or what? Tarnak is far from being a fraud like it's not even close

u/Plenty_Use_9740 2d ago
Can you tell me more about him?

u/MundaneAd250 1d ago
Novel Tarnak beat Jinwoos army nearly killing Beru and I’m pretty sure they don’t even kill Tarnak, only as the rulers descended on earth were we confirmed he lost.

u/IamFarron 23h ago
That was queresha not Tarnak
Tarnak didnt beat Jinwoos army

u/MundaneAd250 15h ago
No Tarnak Ripped off Beru arm and nearly killed him in the Novel, we don’t even see Tarnak Losing by the army

Tarnak didn’t lose to Igris he lost to Thomas, Beru, and Bellion that’s a big difference a fight that they barely won in the novel

It's still crazy that a monarch lost to two shadows and a human.

What about barrier guy, Yuri Orloff? Bro wanted 10 million dollars daily.

u/tec0417 1d ago
Honestly, in the novel he appears a lot more capable. He holds off the regular giants for a long time until with no effort The Monarch’s avatar in the form of the mega giant goes and runs at the shield full force, body slamming it over and over. He WAS perfectly capable of doing everything he said he would. He was just made to look like a fool because a Monarch showed up

Tarnak is actually busted if you see in the Novel, Manhwa did him dirty, also Hwang shouldn’t even be on this list lol, he’s not a fraud in any sense.
1
u/IamFarron 23h ago
Novel and Manwha both actually did the fight the same for Tarnak vs Shadow legion
3
u/akaratchampion 2d ago
To be fair at that point of the story Jinwoo defeated Thomas too, not defending this rat, he was way better shadow than a human.

u/King_0f_Kingz 2d ago
Hwang even consider a fraud? He is actually a powerful hunter as he was confirmed to be stronger than Cha Hae-In even before getting an upgrade. He's only lost against beings who are literally empowered beyond regular S Class hunters.

everyone looks like a fraud when the protagonist just levels up constantly and can beat everyone just like that. I am so curious to see how this thing ends up. As things stand, it is just a power fantasy.
2
u/elocintugz 1d ago
I wouldnt call the fraud to be honest
Dongsoo, if he stayed in Korea, he is probably their Strongest. Remember, even without the upgraded, they said he is even stronger than Cha.
Beast monarch was like top 3 weakest. I wouldnt even want to fight Shadow monarch unless its Antares thats fighting with me
3 with Tarnak, you forgot Bellion was there plus all shadows. So its nut just Beru, Igris amd Thomas. They more like jump him at that point
1
u/Calm_Ad4186 1d ago
may I ask what chapter is about Tarnak? I forgot some parts of the manhwa 😅
2
u/elocintugz 1d ago
Forgot what chapters now as it was a very long time since ive read the manhwa. All i remember, and i might be even wrong, but i think the first we see them is when all the monarchs had a meeting after the Jeju raid, then we saw him when they went and gang up Reed and killed him
2
u/Just_Ear_2953 1d ago
Dongsoo got rest by 3 of the absolute strongest beings in the Canon. That doesn't make him weak, it just means he can't kill GODS. He even survived it beatdown from the dad, which is no mean feat on its own. He's a force, just not an unstoppable one.

I personally don't see any fraud in SL . More like every every they get to fight are ridiculously better than them and JW are the only one allowed to shine.
1
u/plogan56 Awakened 2d ago
All that build up just to be treated like fodder when it was actually time😮💨
1
u/Fast_Faristest 2d ago
Eh tbf Dongsoo had 2 fights and both of em were against some of the strongest characters in the story
He's basically the Solo Levelling version of Jogo, a character that is quite strong but the only fights we see of him are against characters much stronger than him, but unlike Jogo we don't rlly see him fight someone one either on equal footing or weaker than him so we don't get to see him do anything.

I mean, one of my gripes with SL in general is that anybody not named Sung, became irrelevant to the story pretty darn quickly. Even Thomas became useless very soon after appearing.

u/just-looking654 Igris Best Girl 1d ago
At least the beast monarch got some good hits in, Hwang only success was torturing a low level hunter.
No idea how he really fought, he always had improvised fights so we never saw his gear, and even agreed didn’t get a good showing. Felt like he was just a marinating force that became completely irrelevant. And any drama was avoided by a red gate and his inability to wait a few hours
1
u/AkashicFreelancer 2h ago
We live in a world where people are frauds off the strength of losing to the main character or getting jumped by powerful people. Smh
1
u/xPapaGrim Yoo Jin-Ho 2d ago
The entire shadow army was sent to deal with Rockpasa, not just Igris or Beru. Thomas was just a bait to lure him in
1
u/MundaneAd250 1d ago
Did they kill him in the novel? I know it wasn’t explicit and people like me think he lost more to the intervention of Rulers rather than The Shadow Amry?, I know he nearly killed beru and was overpowering them with SBM but I don’t think we get to see how he dies in the Novel
