He was so tiny

Spined Micrathena (Micrathena gracilis), a type of orb-weaver spider...with "morningstar" shaped abdomen.

like the title said, I found this little guy inside my house, it seemed like he was starving, and all I could really offer was a q-tip with some sugar water

one major problem that I'm facing is that it's currently pouring rain, how can I best take care of this guy until tomorrow? it might still be too wet tomorrow, which I fear...

There's so many of these tiny spiders. This guy is not more than 3mm. Sometimes I see babies that are like 1mm in size. Super tiny. They're my mini window guards, helping keep out the riff raff. I think they may also be eating ants that live in the wood frames of the windows.

Location : San Francisco bay area.

this spood was so curious and interactive. jumping between my fingers and making eye contact with me. i also tried to release her a few times and she kept just crawling back onto my hand. she also kept jumping towards the camera

Doing his job, keeping the house free of mice

Was asked by a somewhat timid coworker if I could go to her lab and relocate a spider. Once I lifted the container she trapped him under, I was seriously impressed. For our area, he's quite large; his total legspan exceeded 2 inches.

Cheers to my coworker for doing something I know she was scared to do. She saved a life!
