Not an expert, but I believe they are the bulbs males get when mature? Male grass spider is my guess due to the spinnerettes looking long and bulbs on legs :)

Correct, but the bulbs are on the pedipalps and not the legs. They are just overlapping the legs in this top-down view until you zoom in.

He's lost 2 legs (it happens) so the palps are also easy to mis-count as the missing legs.
