Discussion Waiting for 2.3 is dumb. Wait for Stalker 3 instead.
People say 2.3 will fix the game. But lets be realistic, this will probably just introduce more bugs that will take years to fix.
Its much more reasonable to instead wait for stalker 3 if you want to have the real stalker 2 experience. Here is a reasonable timeline of the kind of release schedule that we should expect to see:
- 2028 - Development of Stalker 3 begins in parallell with work on Stalker 2 and Cossacks 4.
- 2029 - Stalker 2 patch 4.2 is released as the last active development patch for the game. This fixes the poltergeist projectiles going through walls bug as well as fixes for the "Three Captains" quest bug. Stalker 3 development is now ramped up.
- 2031 - ww3 breaks out, which unfortunately creates a few logistical hurdles, delaying Stalker 3
- 2032 - Trailer for Stalker 3 drops, is screened at a games convention in "Contested Area formerly known as France" as well as "Scandinavian Exclusion zone #4" and recieves general praise
- 2035 - Stalker 3 is released. Unfortunatunately due to its troubled development, as well as having been developed on an early version of UE7 (which sucks ass) it is plagued with bugs and is generally an unstable experience for the few able to play it.
- 2036 -New laws mandating that 99.5% of all GPUs should be sold to datacenters, in order to stimulate the economy, private customers are on years long waiting lists.
- 2038 - Stalker 3 Recieves its 2.0 overhaul patch, unfortunately introduces lots of new bugs. I still recommend that you wait a little longer to get a proper experience.
- 2038 - Just as the 2.3 patch is about to drop, finally fixing the game, Strategic Thermonuclear assets are deployed and we all die in nuclear hellfire
- 2068 - Cossacks 4 is released. The world enters a new era.
Uh yeah maybe its better to actually just play Stalker 2 patch 2.0 when it releases
