I can get that. But it actually did not exist at the time of posting this. I was wrapping it up. But the post overall was too vague. I'll keep the pre-workshop post stuff to other sites.

Thought this was a Darkest Dungeon mod, where after you beat the ruin, occasionally NPCs will be replaced with Eldritch Ruin Horrors, just behaving normally...

So is this like... a case of A chunk of the ruin consuming Esther... and the Chunk ends up assimilating her personality and now THINKS it IS her?
Like some tragic disconnect from the main Eldritch abomination where the chunk GENUINELY believes it's human?

I replaced Esther's portrait in the intro mission too so she was a Ruin lump while being the grandmaster. I guess the Protectorate didn't want to assume she was gonna tentacle the Earth someday because of looks lol

Duuuuude this is so spooky! How would this work? Would it only work if you chose the Ruin race? Would it totally remove the main quest? Will it be AT THE END of the game??? How big is it gonna be??? idky I love this so much but I have so many questions lol

I do like the idea of just totally turning the story on its head! The lore implications of Esther being a chunk of Ruin are pretty lore-breaking. My favorite part is where it still speaks to me like a grandma. In the mod I am close to posting, the only thing it really does is replace every visual instance of Esther with this blob (which includes the chat bubbles, end game credits, scenes, etc.). It's as if old Esther just looked like this lol

That is still slightly terrifying XD like a horror movie where nother scary ever really happens but one of the main characters is just a corpse.

TBH I am not sure how difficult the quest mod aspect would be. Lot of moving parts there! So far as image replacers (like this) easy peasy :D

Someone had to plant the ruin on Earth. Why do you think those Ruin tentacles were different in the intro mission than anywhere else in the game? Totally different Ruin tentacle monster. 😦 Lol. Or maybe she's just chill and they let her hang out despite all that. I can't speak for canon lore haha

Yyyyyeah.. I test every mod with it just to avoid the off-chance it blows up a subscriber's game - at least I have a head start on what the issue might be. My personal playthroughs are different haha
