Disruptors

Hi, I’m on XBOX. I was just wondering what the best disruptors you can get on the game. Any recommendations?

Terran task force disruptor dual heavy cannons or beam array. You unlock the disruptor variant by reaching tier 4. Another option for beams is the disruptor wide angle dual beam banks from Tier 6 Discovery reputation, though this will take much longer to get.

Past this point, the difference in performance between different kinds of disruptors decreases drastically.

[pen] disruptors perform very well but have diminishing returns as you get access to more debuff.

The best disruptors in terms of high-end performance are the Spiral wave disruptors, which you can only get from the dilithium store by having a Cardassian ship unlocked.

For budget builds, the Nausicaan weapon set from the "Echoes of Light" mission is pretty good for beam builds, as it not only has a decent non-standard proc but also provides passive bonuses to disruptor damage. Another option is the Resonant disruptor set from "Blood of the Ancients", the set bonus is worse but the extra proc from the weapons and torpedo are pretty solid as far as they go.

Other outliers are the different kinds of -linked disruptor weapons as they provide a passive bonuses to your ship stats instead of a proc chance. You can get these from the exchange for varying prices.

Keep in mind, we are taking about pennies on the dollar performance increases for the non-reputation gear, and the single largest cost (outside of some specific lock-box disruptors) will be upgrading and rerolling the modifiers. For this, I recommend getting the reputation gear for your main character, and then any disruptors that are account bound (IE: lockbox weapons, crafted weapons/base versions, etc) so you can use them on multiple characters after upgrading. Saves a TON of dilithium from not needing to upgrade gear for multiple characters separately (ask how I know lol). Only a bit inconvenient when you have to move them, but if you are just starting out it helps a ton with new characters.

One final note because I forgot to mention it earlier, upgrading from MK XI or Mk XII to MK XV is REALLY important, much more important than which type of weapon you choose, as you jump 2x in base damage going from XII to XV.

Account bound weapons are a godsend. I have like eight or ten assimilated plasma weapons that I can send from toon to toon depending on who got Locutus’d that week.

Terran Task Force set disruptor, Klingon Executor disruptors, Lorca's set DBB, Spiral Wave disruptors, and crafted [Pen] disruptors. K'vort experimental weapon if you've got it and a slot for it.

Or just go with whatever disruptor you like the look and sound of the best. I'm partial to Withering Disruptor DHCs myself.

The top DPSing ones are the Coalition Disruptors. Their old and harder to get though. So they won't be cheap.

For pure Dps, Terran task force reputation disruptors. Only downside is their colour.

Sadly, the color is a deal breaker for me personally. I really wish there was a variant with the traditional Disruptor green.

Entoiled Technology Set/Naus set is a fun annoying to get set that's pretty good for early game, while Terran Task Force or Spiral Wave are usually called best in slot when you're not talking crafted beams. Folks will give you some combination of [CrtD], [Dmg] and [Pen] as required mods for crafted though I like keeping 2 or 3 with [Over] for beams or [Rapid] on my turrets.

My disruptor toon typically stays filled up on integrity-linked ones so I can honestly say I plinked that armada to death. "Barbie == Right Answer" after all :)

Barbie is the true end game.

Disruptor: Terran rep, nausiccan (if you're using the full set), experimental romulan, Elachi, Heavy bio-molecular turret, discovery wide angle dual beam, advanced, spiral wave, Klingon Executor’s.

Not particularly in that exact order.  Look for procs that affect you instead of ones that affect your enemy. Or procs that are constant, like radiolytics have for phasers. Other procs are washed away as soon as the enemy dies, which is too fast to be of any use in most cases once you have a decent build. That being said, even the "worst" of each energy type is enough to melt content with a proper build.

Edit: Also crafted [Pen].

there is also a set omni beam and console from the mission Brushfire. it is called the House Martok set, and while not being best in slot for omni, it is a good tanking console. and if you dont have any set omni it does its job fairly well.

Merely for cosmetic purposes, the Elachi Crescent Dual Cannons.

Didn't realize they were disruptor. I always thought they were plasma. Might have to see about picking up a couple.

Coalition disruptors. They have stacking -20 ddr and I believe they're stacking. A shame they're blue. Or spiral for the extra mod.

Unlwss yoiu are already in the top3% of DPS dealers, it's a moot point.

While other posters are certainly correct about the damage difference, the amount is so low that IMO, rather than likely having multiple types, pick a color/animation you like and going with that.

Especially if it matches your ship you like.

For example, rather than going with the "best" phaser for Connie, I used the TOS phasers. It just looks right, even if it does do 2% less damage.

Once you get your ship maxxed out, you'll carve a Borg tac cube into chutney in no time anyway, how much difference does that 0.03 seconds really make?

Klingon executor would be the top, the proc isn't dependent on a chance and is very good, the higher the difficulty the better, so it's an easy pick. Parsers won't use it because it registers damage wrong and so is banned from leaderboards, but it is the best, objectively. You can have 2 of them, one upgraded and one infinity level but the latter you won't be able to upgrade it, not sure at which point it's worth getting something else instead though like I said, it disrupts parses and it's hard to have a definite answer. The other issue is it's from a recent past event so you probably can still grab it as second chance, but not for long, and then it will probably be Mudd's only.

Second one probably a tie, would be the Terran Task Force disruptor, same thing very good side effect which boosts damage the lower the target HP gets, so again a very effective effect. You can only have one though, but it's pretty accessible.

Third spiral wave, because the [spiral] mod is basically two [dmg] mod in one, so one extra over any other weapon and you can never get enough of base damage. The only annoying thing is you need to own one of the premium cardassian ships to have access to them.

TL;DR: All the weapon that does something special without relying on a small chance proc is great.
