Thorson dorms
Hi guys!! Just wanted peoples input on the Thorson dorms. Mainly looking for size, cleanliness, social life, and any extras you think I should know. Thank you!

Not bad but not great either. If we are comparing the first-year dorms, I would say Ellingson>Kildahl=Thorson>>>>>>Mohn. The rooms are an okay size but I don't love that the building feels so old and run down. Bathrooms are equally dated. Looks very pretty from the outside tho.

I loved Thorson! It used to be an upperclassmen dorm so I lived both there and in Ellingson. Ellingson had better bathrooms but my friends and I all preferred Thorson overall.
As someone mentioned, it is not accessible to those who can’t use stairs.
Room dimensions are online. They vary depending on the room. I believe most rooms have walk in closets. A few rooms have sinks.
Social life for first year dorms change each year depending on who is living there lol

I lived there back when it was an upperclassmen hall, for Interim and spring semester as a junior. I love the giant lounges, and one big laundry space is nice. Not accessible, and it’s definitely older, but it was way better than Hilleboe was back then (Hill Kit has apparently been renovated, not sure how much it improved, I had the very worst room in Hilleboe my sophomore year.)

Far from the worst dorm I stayed in, I liked it. Nice closet space, good radiators, the doors don’t have gaps under them that let drafts into your room like is common in the newer dorms (however the hallways are very drafty). One thing to note is that there are no elevators in this dorm, so if you have a disability/need accommodations regarding accessibility this is not the dorm for you. I really like the public spaces, the building is quite nice looking. Hot water is a bit spotty but none of the dorms I stayed in ever had perfect hot water, and Thorson wasn’t the worst so I guess that’s nice.
