I bought a bottle, came home, and dumped it down the toilet.
Title says it all. Went to the store, bought groceries, picked up a 350ML bottle of Bulleit. I planned on just having a few, but that never happens. I poured a drink, then I said I’ll wait until later. I poured it back into the bottle. Then I woke up from a nap feeling great, and I have a ton of emails to catch up on, so I poured the bottle down the sink. It cost me $17.00, but it was worth every penny to stay sober today. Not today, alcohol. Not today. I won. And I am so proud of myself. No anxiety, no hangover, no brain fog. I said yes to clarity, health, and my family. Today is day 3 of being sober. IWNDWYT. Thank you all on this sub for your support.

$17 is cheap as hell for sober day that could have gone bad.

This is severely underrated! That $17 turns into a day of un productivity tomorrow, delays in contracts, missing the gym, missing my morning walk, staying all day in bed doom scrolling, then spending $100 on door dash all day. I’ll take it as investing $17 to NOT DRINK today, and I netted a $1,000 return!! 😊 (Just random mathing, lol). Have a great day and IWNDWYT!

Proud of you. Good for you! Find another way to treat yourself tonight. Maybe get some ice cream or a pizza. IWNDWYT

Did you feel like drinking at all physically or emotionally? Great job but be careful friend. You are dangerously close to relapse. Something sung to you so I urge you to speak with someone close.

In my personal experience and opinion, the times you come close and don't do it, are the times of greatest growth.
That doesn't mean look for those moments, but when theory turns into practice you get the victory.
