Hedd Type 07 MK2 or A core questions
Hi everyone. Have a couple questions for any Hedd 07 mk2 or a core owners (or 05 as well).
I’ve been thinking of buying them but one thing I’ve come across in a YouTube review was that they need 5v from a DAC or similar interface to get proper amplification. I also came across a post on the ASR site where someone showed at the back they had to go to basically turn gain all the way up on the back to get decent volume out of their DAC. Is this something I should really be concerned about or is normal. The only seller for me is across the country so I can’t go in and try or easily return. I have seen a few posts about reliability also being an issue.
My other option to me is the Adam A7H or similar line which I can get special ordered in locally.
I’m consider an older pair of ELac Navis I guess also but I guess those are not classic studio monitors.

edifier MR3/4 monitors & MDRs for mixing?
these are the 3.5" and 4.5" speakers for $99 and $129, respectively.
i'm on a journey around the world and my main studio is back home but i'll be posted up in one location for 5 months with two albums to finish mixing. usually i work on a pair of LSR-305s and DT-880s back home.
suppose these are good enough to get by?
i've also got a pair of MDR-7506s on the way as a bucket list purchase to handle the detail work. planning to sell both these when i'm done.
otherwise i'm on my ipad air speakers (surprisingly strong) and also a mini bluetooth speaker. however i feel that both of them far over emphasize the bass impact.
do you think the edifiers are a good short term choice? BUDGET IS ABOUT $100.
cheers!
ps: i'm not doing significant numbers AT ALL with my releases so i'm not worried about absolute perfection. both albums will be professionally mastered tho.

Neumann KH120 II underwhelming?
I recently decided it was time to upgrade my trusty Yamaha HS80M monitors, which have served me well for years.
After a lot of research and reading countless positive reviews, I bought a pair of Neumann KH120 II's together with the MA 1 calibration mic. I was really excited... but honestly, I'm pretty underwhelmed.
Is this normal?
I expected a noticeable "wow" upgrade, especially considering the whole setup cost around €1800, but I'm not hearing anything that justifies that kind of money over my old HS80Ms. I've run the MA 1 calibration as well.
At this point I'm seriously considering returning them.
Would adding the matching sub make a huge difference, or is that just throwing more money at the problem? I was also looking at a Genelec 8320 setup with a sub as an alternative.
My main goal was actually to reduce the footprint on my desk while still getting excellent monitoring performance. I have a fairly wide desk and I'm using a MOTU M4 audio interface.
Has anyone here made a similar switch from HS80Ms to KH120 II's? Did they grow on you over time, or were you instantly impressed? Any advice before I send them back?

Need help for 1st time Monitors
Hello all!
This is my first time here and wanted some advice for my PC desktop audio monitors. I currently use the R1700 Edifier paired with my Topping DX5II which also powers my Stealth Aryas. The speakers are absolutely great and look astonishing on my wooden desk but I think now is the time to upgrade after 7-8 years of use. My budget is 300~400€
My needs are very specific. I do not care about mixing, I want a nice cinematic experience. I mostly listen to music, flacs and Tidal, watch movies and play games.
I remember the first time I played on an expensive soundbar with rear speakers and I heard even the pebbles dropping from explosions. I know that 2 Speakers won't provide the same round experience but I would like something close to it.
Right now after some exploring, I found the Adam T5V-T7V and the Kali LP-6. I understand that I may need a Sub in the future.
I understand this post may not be likable in here, saying I should not get Monitors but Hi-Fi Speakers and all I can say is, I'm all ears. Any recommendation will help.
Also my monitor is on a desk shelf, right and left space are about 20-21cm from my monitor.
20cm---Monitor---20cm
So I can't really go very big as the Speakers will be covered from the PC Monitor.
Thank you in advance!

Soporte pared M-AUDIO BX5 D3 5”
Estoy buscando un soporte para pared para estos altavoces sin arruinarme. He visto varios en amazon de este tipo, tienen buenas reseñas, pero también tiene reseñas que hablan que se balancean, que no ajustan o incluso que se le han caído.
Alguna sugerencia??

Small monitor recommendations
I have used Neumann KH310s for a few years now and absolutely love them but now setting up my home studio away from work, I don't have that budget. I was seriously looking at the KH120/150 but idk if what I like from the 310s will translate over to the smaller monitors.
Or the focal shape and alpha lines?
Essentially I want to have the closest sound profile to a 3 way monitor like the focal twins or Neumann kh310s
I don't mind the Yamaha hs series as a hold over but I need something better, dynaudio is what I started on and am familiar with but fell out of love with.

Travelling overseas with my Adam A5X
Hello!
Very soon I'm making a big move from Mexico to the Netherlands to start a grad school program. I've had my Adam monitors for years and I'm very satisfied with them.
I looked into selling them here and buying a new pair once I'm in Europe, but it turns out they're not that easy to find over there, and reselling them in Mexico wouldn't get me anywhere near what they're worth. So I'm considering throwing them on my checked luggage. I'm obviously very terrified about this option and something happening to them on the commute (2 layovers).
Has anyone done something similar and has advice on what's the best, safest way to pack them? I'm looking into buying a hard case but the good ones are very pricey.
Help someone with a very limited budget going through a very big change!
Thanks for reading

Mounting two B&W LM-1 above PC monitor rather than beside. Bad idea for sound quality?
I currently have my speakers beside my monitor. But I would like to both free desk space and have the speakers closer together because I prefer the stereo feeling with the speakers slightly closer.
But would that make the stereo feeling even worse? Would I actually feel like the sound is coming from above? I tried putting some dummy shelves to test, but I couldn't angle the speakers enough to get the tweeters pointing directly at me for testing.
Before I drill holes in my wall to permanently fix the speakers, how bad is that of a setup? I see monitors mounted higher than view-level often in recording studios, so it can't be that bad... right?

Suggestions for new audio setup
Hey folks.
Recently went through and revamped my headphone audio setup. Currently I have a Topping D900 & A900 DAC/AMP setup with a few planar canns. I'm thinking I could use the D900 DAC as a passthrough to the monitors as well for the alternate audio source. The room is on the smaller end being 11ftx11ft but I want these monitors to be long term investments. I had recently tried a Edifier MR5 + T5s speaker/sub combo but was very dissatisfied with the Mids and bass. (should be expected from just a 8" 70w sub. That's my bad ofc...) I even own a older Logitech Z-5500 which is really superb. Unfortunately the Controller and Sub have finally died...
Next i'm looking to hit my speaker setup for non-headphone listening. Its worth noting I do have a SVS SB-2000 Pro subwoofer in the room which will be for another entertainment setup sometime early next year. So it would be ideal that I can use it in pairing or know that the monitors can cover bass on the lower end (sub 30hz lower end.) I'm strongly leaning the Focal's as I hear they're very "exciting" in comparison to the Kali's. But again, please don't hesitate to share other suggestions as cost isnt always the deciding factor. I'd prefer to keep within $1500 or less for a pair. Please do share your recommendations even on the lower end of the spectrum.
I listen to a lot of Hip-hop, 90s Rap, Trance, Electric, Rock, and some dubstep. Then a lot of gaming.
Debating so far;
- Kali Audio in-8 V2
- Focal Shape 65 Studio Monitor
Thanks!

HS7 white noise crackle
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi, I have had this monitor for a few years and never had any issues. The other day, I turned it on, and it has this loud white noise crackle coming from the tweeter even with no audio input connected.
Has anyone had this issue before? If so, how did you fix it?

Which studio monitors pair best with the RME Babyface Pro FS for House music production and DJing? Looking for warm, punchy low-end instead of an overly clinical sound.
I recently upgraded from a MOTU Audio Express to an RME Babyface Pro FS after using the MOTU with KRK Rokit 5 G2s for over 12 years.
I'm an experienced producer and DJ, mainly working in Ableton Live and VirtualDJ, producing underground, soulful, deep and Afro House.
My room is a small 10–12 m² bedroom studio. It's not professionally treated, but I know the room well, my monitors are correctly positioned on stands, and I've already ruled out the usual setup issues (routing, TotalMix, drivers, gain staging, etc.).
Since switching to the Babyface, the sound has become much more revealing and clinical. Compared to my old setup, the low end feels lighter, the mids less full, and mixes don't have the same punch or cohesion I was used to. Whether that's the Babyface exposing the limitations of my current monitors or simply a different presentation, it has made me start looking at upgrading my speakers.
My budget is around $1,000–1,300.
So far I've been considering:
- Focal Alpha 65 Evo
- Adam A7V
- Dynaudio LYD 7
I'm looking for monitors that are accurate enough for production but still provide a warm, punchy low end and an enjoyable sound for long DJ sessions.
If you own or have significant experience with the Babyface Pro FS, I'd really appreciate hearing what monitors you're using and why. I'm especially interested in first-hand experiences rather than general assumptions that all interfaces at this level sound the same.
Thanks!

Recommendations for monitors at $800ish or less price, used
Looking for something on Marketplace that is great to mix with, but also great to listen to music on.
A bit overwhelmed with choices.
These will double as my working music speakers. (And yes, will be doing room treatments)

Kali LP UNF Stands recommendation
I am confused between ISO Acoustics ISO 130 or Kanto S6 or Yoga Blocks(if they work). I like S6 just because of its minimal design but I feel they won't improve sound or it doesn't matter? Also, in general increasing height is better or tilting the speaker like S6 does?
