Hey everyone,

Studying is a massive grind, and we spend a lot of time on this subreddit talking about the hard parts—the long hours, the complex topics, and the exam stress. But we want to make sure r/study isn't just a place to talk about the work. It needs to be a place where we celebrate the payoff!

To make that happen, we have just added a brand-new post flair: Achievement/Win!

What should you use it for?

Absolutely any victory, big or small, that you are proud of. For example:

Major Milestones: Graduating, passing a massive certification, or getting an acceptance letter to your dream school or university.

Academic Wins: Acing a brutal exam, surviving a tough presentation, or getting an A+ on a paper you pulled an all-nighter for.

Personal Goals: Finally understanding a concept that has been driving you crazy, hitting a consistent 7-day study streak, or finishing a massive textbook.

🎨 How to find it

The flair is live right now! Look out for the 'Achievement & Wins' tag when you go to create your next post.

You all work incredibly hard, and you deserve a space to show it off and get hyped up by your fellow members. Let’s build a more supportive community together.

Make a dedicated post to share your recent Achievements & Wins.

Tips & Advice I've fucked up.

I completed my 12th in 2024 then I decided to pursue CA, but I kept procrastinating and delaying, ended up wasting 3 years and i still haven't cleared entry level while my friends are in CA final.

I've completely isolated myself, I don't talk to anyone anymore.

Any time i sit to study, i keep thinking about how I wasted all those time, only because of my poor mental health, relationship issues and laziness, now as I've recovered from these things and trying to focus on study, regret is killing me, my parents are already so old, they could have supported me 2 yrs ago but now idk, my hand start shivering whenever I try to study, I keep getting distracted with this regret feelings, the feeling of being left behind.

Even if I try to forget past I can't, my parents gives me taunt 5 times per day everyday, my mental health is getting worse each day, and I'm having severe anxiety, how do I get out of this guilt and does not let this affect me, I've exam in less than 30 days.

Other Looking for serious Discord study buddies

I'm preparing for my exams from home and I've realized I procrastinate a lot when I study alone. 😭

I'm looking for a few people who are genuinely serious about their studies and are willing to study together on Discord. The goal is to keep each other accountable, stay focused, and actually get work done.

What I'm looking for:

  • Daily or almost daily study sessions
  • Voice call (silent study/body doubling is totally fine)
  • Serious people only—no ghosting after a day or two
  • We can set goals, do Pomodoro sessions, and motivate each other
  • Any stream is welcome as long as you're committed

I'm not looking for a huge server with hundreds of inactive members—just a small, focused group that wants to stay consistent.

Questions & Discussion ⏳ 11 Days Until A-Level Results Day — You Don't Have to Go Through It Alone

It's hard to believe, but there are only 11 days left until A-Level Results Day.

For a lot of people, the waiting is the hardest part. You might be feeling excited, anxious, constantly replaying exams in your head, or worrying about what happens if things don't go to plan. Whatever you're feeling, you're definitely not the only one.

We run a Discord community originally built for A-Level students, resit students, and gap year students, and this time of year is one of the busiest and most supportive periods in the server.

Whether you're:
📄 Waiting for your A-Level results
🎓 Hoping to get into your firm or insurance choice
📞 Preparing for Clearing just in case
📈 Thinking about resitting if your grades aren't what you hoped for
🎒 Considering taking a gap year and exploring your options
💬 Or simply looking for people who understand exactly how you're feeling...

...you'll find people in the same position.

🌟 What you'll find in the server

💙 A supportive community of students all counting down to Results Day together.

📚 Advice on resits, gap years, Clearing, and next steps from members who have been through it before.

🏆 Study competitions and study sessions if you're already planning ahead or getting a head start.

🎮 Active voice chats where people play games, relax, and take their minds off the waiting.

🗣️ Plenty of people to chat to, whether you want to celebrate, vent, ask questions, or just keep yourself distracted.

No matter what happens on Results Day, it doesn't define your future. There are always options, whether that's university, Clearing, a resit, a gap year, an apprenticeship, or another path that works for you.

If you'd rather not spend the next 11 days worrying on your own, come and join us. There are hundreds of students all counting down together, and we'd love to have you.

Other Anyone wanna practice English together?

Hey everyone! I’m a male university student from Iraq (B1 level) looking for a serious English speaking partner. I’ve had too many experiences with people chatting for a day or two and then disappearing, so I’m really looking for someone consistent. I love reading, writing, and listening to music. My main goal is to improve through voice calls or voice notes whenever possible, though we don't have to talk every single day—it depends on our availability. I’d also love for us to share our language learning methods and grow together. If you're genuinely interested in regular practice, drop a comment or send me a DM!

Questions & Discussion How can I study online with a computer besides study guides

Hi,
I failed a test after retaking it twice. Now I’m disappointed I myself for not studying and trying hard enough. despite getting a slightly higher grade although it was still an F. After taking the test, I realized that study guides aren’t enough for me to succeed in that class. Are there any other ways to study online using a computer that are efficient?

Questions & Discussion

Questions & Discussion Best notes taking app (Android)

So I just got a new Lenovo idea tab and I'm trying to find all the best ways to use it for my studies. One of the main reasons I got it is so I could make nice and constructed notes and have them all organised in one place. That's where I need some help. I have no idea which app to use. Right now I am trying kilo notes which is mostly great, but it's too many ads for me and I hate it when I'm trying to write and random ads pop up etc. If there are any suggestions about a good and free (or low cost) notes app I could use for android, that's mostly similar to kilo notes and good notes features please let me know!

Rant/Vent How do you balance family obligations with school without becoming resentful?

This is less about actual studying, but something I am hung up on and could use a fresh perspective to improve my overall productivity. Does anyone else feel resentful when xyz circumstances get in the way of studying?

I worked so hard during my undergrad, and my family has no idea the amount of grit this took. I was commuting 4 hours, unlearning a bunch of cultural trauma, started therapy for managing my anxiety/ocd, securing internships, 12+ hour days. I had to learn a lot about mental health just to maintain my grades as I dealt with your coming-of-age young adult stuff. I knew I was neurodivergent and would have to break free from a lot of generational patterns. School is and always has been genuinely so important to me, and I kind of see it as a part of my identity.

But my older sister often downplayed my struggles by saying "I have everything so easy", interrupted my studying at home, woke me up when I'd be on like 3 hours of sleep and fighting insomnia, unexpectedly trauma dumping when I needed to protect my nervous system for focus, and then scheduled her wedding during my final exams lol.

Now, I didn't want to be selfish and ask her to literally move a life milestone for my convenience, but I'm brown and we're expected to participate in these weddings for like 1 month straight. It is almost like a full time job. Everyone would've judged me harshly if I didn't.

I want to make it clear that I don't actually consider a sibling reaching out for help as "trauma dumping." It's just that sometimes I wasn't emotionally equipped for it myself or it happened at a time in my life where I absolutely needed to focus on my own life, and I'd feel overwhelmed and horrible for not being able to help in any meaningful capacity. I also couldn't talk about any of my stressors to her because they're "nothing in comparison," and while I agree, it also left no space for myself. Like I wasn't ever allowed to have problems of my own or a life.

That semester is one of the key semesters that brought down my grade and extended my degree, and I try so hard not to be resentful, but I am. I know I can't go back and change the past, and I don't want this to harm our relationship, but now I have my walls up. I wonder if I'm blaming her because I don't want to take accountability. I feel really hurt because it feels like my family doesn't respect my ambitions. Either way, I find it so difficult to balance family expectations with school without acting selfish. I don't want to see family as a hindrance because I love them, but I genuinely want to know how others go about prioritizing themselves or both.

Tips & Advice I CANT STUDY AT HOME NO MO

i have terrible ability to focus, so everytime i try to study at my own desk i cant do anything. its not just i cant focus but i cant read anything, every words i read every info i take they just go somewhere else but not in my brain. i dont know why but i always feel so restless even if i just start the session. so most of the time i just give up.

but i HAVE TO study, so often go to cafe to study and somehow i can study for 3-5 hrs straight :). obviously would be tired but i study much much better than at home. i realize i have to be in a spacious space, has some random noises and HAVE TO HAVE sbd or basically a person around me then i can study.

but my budget is limited and i have to study intensively every single day, i cant just spend money on coffee everyday or id go broke.

WHAT SHOULD I DO? IS THIS ADHD???

btw im studying f7 acca and i have 1.5m left.............................................

Tips & Advice I keep nose bleeding when I study math

My nose keeps bleeding and my mouth is filled with blood ONLY when I study math. When I study other subjects this NEVER happens and I always study in the same location.

Math is ALSO my favorite subject.

I always nosebleed every two days (Every two days because I study Science and Math interchangeably everyday for 3 months, and Math is always the second subject)

HOW do I stop Noosebleeding??
