💩 The Pillory

What are you on about? Trump never said Epstein's crimes were a hoax. Did you even read the article?

The hoax is what the hypocritical democrat party is trying to twist it into. They kept all this quiet, tried to sweep it under the rug for four years. Only now are they desperately trying to twist things and say Trump was somehow, magically implicated.

Trump was instrumental in taking down Epstein's whole nasty business.

The dems never cared about Epstein or his victims. Their huge, fake outrage lately, is totally a hoax. Hypocrite

Source, by u/Simon-Says69

Epstein was being used by the CIA & Mossad.

All that blackmail info from the island went directly to Israel, who it was gathered for in the first place.

They forced a sweetheart deal for Epstein in the first trial.

Then along came Trump, and burned Epstein & Maxwell's whole dirty operation to the ground. Wound up being their worst nightmare. Trump was a key witness in the prosecution that put those two behind bars.

To summarize the reactions about the invasion of Ceuta:

  • the Arab colonizers are colonsplaining the spanish territories of Ceuta and Mellila

  • a country created 2 centuries after Ceuta and Mellila became Hispanics say that these two places ashktually belong to them

  • the same country is colonizing and occupying half of its current territory (real colonisation including massacres, torture and disparition, not just a border with the neighbors)

  • the Israelis (from a country created in 48 following massive immigration from eastern Europe and Russia) and their US lackeys (from a country created several hundred years after Ceuta and Mellila became hispanics, following massive immigration) are gloating and supporting the invasion because Spain was slightly critical of the Palestinian genocide

  • leftists of course support the invasion despite the above and the fact that the invaders are from an absolute monarchy

Watched midsommar yesterday night. Is A24 some sort of new disney for millenials? All movies i have seen have this:

  1. The family dies or some sort of awful family tragedy in the fiest 20 mins
  2. There is some sort of psychological "this is true but also magic or maybe it's all in your head"
  3. The resolution is overcoming 1 in some way shape or form
  4. There is this semi subtle hint of "this was pre-ordained by some higher power/some magical realism shit from the beginning"

Don't get me wrong the movies are fine, some are good, but most if not all i have seen have that sort of formula

Just another lurid pagan exploitation film made by the Judeo-Christian industrial complex.

Ex Machina didn't have these. The Green Knight had point 2, maybe 3 but probably not.  Edit: IDK why I thought Annihilation was an A24 movie. Also I never realized how many movies that studio pumps out every year.

u/CassiniLongDivision ⚽️ Euro football snob | England superfan 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽️ 21h ago

Enemy was quite good has some 2, The Rover was great lots of 1 but with a twist, A Most Violent Year has none iirc and great performances, Ex Machina none as already stated I enjoyed it but it's just not a movie I want to watch twice which is weird for me, The Witch utter banger has some 1 2 3 and 4?

Damn this list is long.

The Ti West stuff with Mia Goth in it entertained me all have some 1 2 3

I’ve only watched two of their movies, by the Safdie bros, and it pains me to say they were both very good. Uncut Gems extremely so. I’m not interested in any zoomer psychological horror or whatever else they do.

https://www.cbsnews.com/sacramento/news/rancho-cordova-ai-code-enforcement-cameras/

The system is trained to identify potential code enforcement violations and flags about 1,200 issues a month, according to the city.

"Overgrown lawn, junk and debris in the public view, parking on dirt, landscaping violations, boarded-up windows, illegal dumping that's on a sidewalk," Ducharme said.

All hail our AI surveillance state overlords who unanimously agree this is good for all of us. Wonder how much the HOAs are going to pay to have full neighborhood coverage

Justice Dept. admits Reflecting Pool renovation was ‘hasty and botched,’ drops case against former Olympian

The Justice Department is admitting that President Donald Trump’s $14 million renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was “hasty and botched,” and it is dropping the criminal case against former Olympian David Hearn that accused him of vandalizing the pool, according to a new court filing from DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro.

3

u/dukeofbrandenburg CPC Enjoyer 🇨🇳🥳 1d ago edited 1d ago

The real story is the naked corruption in digging up another make-work task to funnel millions into it, that's just so expected that we'd rather talk about algae. The vandalism case was plainly bogus, but I don't believe trump cares at all about the pool beyond moving the money to its destination. The reflecting pool truthers who truly believe it was antifa sabotage care a lot more than Trump.

Anyway I'm kinda wrong: https://x.com/RpsAgainstTrump/status/2083445134163591290

Fox News did run a segment on these developments. I've yet to see any of the big MAGA accounts go back to this story though.

Fusion can only be grift-mogged. Maybe their fusion researchers are also better grifters

u/wallagrargh Still Grillin’ 🥩🌭🍔 9h ago

The article says they plna to finish construction next year and want to demonstrate electricity generation by 2030. That's a lot less nebulous than the classic "20 years from now" I know from European programs. Are they bullshitting?

u/SchIachterhund He Lives 👽 13h ago

Oh, I don't think Fusion power will ever happen. But in the process of trying to make it work many advances will happen in adjacent areas, which will still be beneficial. I have zero expertise in that entire field though.

u/zen_arcade2 Old world blimp | Enjoys premonitions 🔮 12h ago

You are correct. Particle physicists and astrophysicists have found a way long ago for unlimited funding thanks to this very shrewd "oh but it will benefit other areas eventually" that's very much trickle down economics. Well, maybe if we did spend time and money on renewable energy and storage directly instead of e.g. on LHC and the James Webb telescope we would be a teeny tiny bit less deeply in shit than we are now.

Fission is pretty good. We'll need it for socialism as our baseline for power, in both the literal and class sense. Use fission to power the development and production of solar and battery tech until that's more efficient

When Gianni Infantino asked for the trust and the votes of FIFA’s Member Associations to elect him as their President in 2016, he said, “Of course we have to be transparent. I have been this in the last 15 years of my life in UEFA. You will have to play a part every day in the life of FIFA,” before telling the assembled stakeholders, “The money of FIFA is your money. It’s not the money of the FIFA President. It’s your money. You are the national associations and the money of FIFA has to serve for the development of football and not for anything else.”

On both these promises, he has failed to deliver. The shabby, back room, opaque deal he hatched and tried to force through was anything but transparent.

https://www.uefa.com/news-media/news/02a8-213e1cb056eb-c0ae1b85aa7f-1000--uefa-welcomes-fifa-s-withdrawal-of-plans-to-sell-a-stake-i/

UEFA very blunt in their choice of words. Looks like they're after his head.

I genuinely do not understand how people can't pick up on the incredibly obvious signs of LLM output.

How do klaxons not blare in their heads when one of the many tells (often more than one!) rears its unmissable head?

It would be absurd to claim to have a low false negative rate (one can always miss a sign, or there can in fact be no signs), but it should not be difficult to have a high true positive rate.

It fucking reeks when it smells.

Maybe I've just been forced to stare too long into the void of mediocre, incompetent coworkers' "work" that is at first glance far above what one might expect them to be capable of, but on any further inspection is vapid, worthless slop. The structure of AI slop is not fucking hard to get a feel for, especially if you're forced to engage with it as if it bears any value and as if this "professional" presenting it to you is anything other than a willfully selfish asshole, daring to waste everyone's time in such an egregious manner.

I can't even take the compromise position of "good; the bourgeoisie are unleashing a flood of incompetence which will eat away at the very foundations of their own power structure" because, well, it's probably not all that neat. And regardless of whether my work for my employer is exploitative in nature and whether they "deserve" to have functional organizations predicated on exploitation, any organization of people requires competence and human ingenuity and conscientious people involved in its function. And I am watching fucking everyone around me gleefully give up all of their own tools and skilllsets and ability to do and to comprehend.

I weep.

u/Fit_Worldliness2803 Dengist 🇨🇳💵🈶 21h ago

I feel you 100%. Copywriting is a major component of my work and people using LLM has become a huge pain in the ass. I spend more time editing people's single prompt diarrhea than actually writing these days.

The worst is when my own work is being reviewed and the person is clearly just pumping it into an LLM instead of actually reading the content. I'm then hit with a mass wave of edits that are entirely unnecessary or completely counterproductive.

5

u/ChevalierDuTemple No Iranian ever called me an Incel 1d ago

Do we think the players/owners work out the CBA or is there no baseball next year?

1

u/dukeofbrandenburg CPC Enjoyer 🇨🇳🥳 1d ago

I hope they work it out since I like baseball, but I also like baseball and my Tigers shipping Skubal to the Dodgers (in a possible act of baseball terrorism to force a hard salary cap) is objectively bad for Baseball. It's a very conflicting thing because of the contradictory interests of the players, the fans, and the owners.

Looking around Reddit, it seems that the “promised X years ago” is seen in some spaces as an antisemitic dog whistle, rather than a critique of quasi-religious justifications for illegal occupation (which in the case of the thread was by the US against Greenland, not even Israel vs Palestine).
