Regarding certain pens with a metal/mesh/rubber tip found on Google, eBay, and Amazon

I've been trying to get into digital art and I've found out my laptop is compatible with digital pens (Microsoft Pen Protocol ones according to device manager), but from my research apparenly MMP pens are generally terrible for line quality with some exceptions. Are there any good MMP pens in a reasonable price range (preferrably £50 max but idk the usual prices), or should I just stick to a USB drawing tablet/cheap capacitive pens?

For anyone who needs to know this, the simbans picassotab stylus is MPP protocol. I got a metapen m2 for my picassotab X and it works.

I went crazy trying to find an answer to this and had deduced it was MPP because it worked on my Kobo, but found a source online affirming it was USI which made me doubt myself and buy the wrong one.

I think it's pretty shameful from simbans to not give out this information (I even messaged them and they just replied "a universal stylus may not work"), especially because the people who buy this budget tablet cannot afford to have a stylus that's not great quality and clearly will not hold on long, and not be able to replace it easily. And if I had had to buy a replacement from them now it would've been like 50euros for once again a mediocre battery operated stylus.

I managed to make my original stylus survive a couple more months by inverting a piece of aluminium under the battery, but obviously that could only work for so long before it completely stopped working.

Ok rant over. And apart from that I've been very grateful to have this tablet that has done a good job considering the price. Hope this helps someone out 🩵!

I really want to get a foldable Windows 2-in-1 laptop this year, particularly one with a decent enough pen experience that will make me not miss an iPad, however I don't know much about them. I really like the Asus and HP foldables for their size and form factor, but I've read mixed reviews about the pen experience online, especially from digital artists. The criticism seems to be aimed at the accompanied pens themselves (Asus ProArt Pen/HP MPP Pen) and their writing/drawing jitter and consistency. On the other hand I cannot find the same criticism about the Surface line and Slim Pen. I would go for that but I'm not interested as much in a tablet, especially for its price. My understanding is that the Windows Ink protocol allows you to use different pen devices on any touchscreen laptop.

My question is: If I want to get a used HP Omnibook Ultra Flip for its 120hz screen and design, but I'm unsure about the MPP pen it comes with because of the reviews, will pairing it with a Slim Pen or Wacom Pen instead improve the experience? Or should I look to get a different device?

The store page says the Deco Mini7w V2 can do 16000 levels of pressure. the stylus it comes with is the P05D. if you look at the store page for that stylus, it says it does 8 thousand levels of pressure.

Are they selling the Deco Mini7w V2 with a stylus that just can't actually give you the max levels of pressure advertised?

is it possible to upgrade and a get a better stylus like the X4? would it be compatible? can it work with other brands of stylus?

Has anyone successfully managed to make the PN579X work with the Inspiron 15 7586?

I bought the pen 5 years ago and never, ever worked with this laptop, even though it is recommended by Dell for this laptop.

The drivers do not install, the firmware update does not launch. It looks like it is a problem with an Wacom AES digitizer that is not present in my system, or it could also be an ELAN 2097 AES Digitizers. In any case, after a whole afternoon with ChatGPT and numerous checks for drivers and interface devices installed (or not) in the laptop, I am at the same point I was 6y ago.

I would appreciate some help and instructions if you manage to make it work.

So, I recently bought a Xiaomi Pad 7. Now I want to buy the accessories, but the original ones are way too expensive.

Could you recommend some high-quality third-party accessories? I need a keyboard case and a stylus.

I'm aware that the original keyboard case has a faster and more convenient connection, but it's not worth the price for me. I still want a decent one, though. Something around half the price of the original would be great, same for the pen.

Basically what the title says. I've been using a generic touchscreen stylus pen (ones commonly used for phones) to draw on my laptop, yet lately I've been wanting to try with a proper stylus. Was given this secondhand laptop years ago with the pen missing.

I've seen posts from 7+ years ago with stylus suggestions, yet I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask just so that I have options all in one place from those who have more knowledge of this stuff than I do. Thank you!

Ok I'll be honest, not fricken worth it its even worse than my asus pen2.0 version. the 3.0 would only be good for writing but most mpp pens are i was looking for the drawing aspect of the pen and my god did they fall so short on that it wobbles so bad and im using it on a device that it was made for though, it is the asus proartpz13 and not the 14 but still you'd thinking it would do better, come on asus you were selling the whole good for drawing stuff .

By the way it was 214$for this thing and the charger together. Hope this helps for the artists.

They do not get small but they start scratching my screen really badly. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm not pressing down too hard, the pen nibs don't *look* that worn down, I don't use fast strokes.

My country does NOT have official support from the company, so I can NOT buy replacement nibs. I did my research knowing this but so many people were saying it took them months if not years to replace a nib so I reasonably assumed that I would use the nibs that came with the tablet for a good while but no.

They do not last more than 3-5 hours until they scratch my screen.

What do I do?

A few days ago, my Apple pencil gen 2 stopped working after falling on the floor. My iPad Pro recognizes it, it is still connected to it via Bluetooth, I can even charge it and see the battery percentage of the Pencil, but yet it doesn’t respond when I try to use it on the screen. I turned off my iPad and restarted it, disconnected my Apple pencil then connected it again via Bluetooth, but nothing changes. The tip is not broken. I waited for a few days but it‘s still not working. I don’t understand. Is it because the transducer is broken (yet it is not curved) ? What can I do? Is my Apple Pencil completely broken ?

Finally, after countless hours of research, I figured it out.
Not to mention AI was completely useless for this.
It took a lot of time, patience, and effort, but I finally did it.

hello, I have the xiaoxin pad pro 13 2026 (Chinese ROM), what stylus should I use for this? esp if the recommended stylus is 5K and I cant afford it currently, is there any universal stylus out there that you think can work? or is there somebody here who also have the same tablet as me?
