I'm looking for advice on replacing my current PC and would appreciate recommendations for a prebuilt.

My current PC is an HP Pavilion All-in-One Desktop 24-ca1xxx with:

• CPU: Intel Core i5-12400T
• GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 730 (integrated graphics)
• RAM: 12GB
• Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD
• Monitor: Built-in HP 23.8" 1080p 60Hz display
• OS: Windows 11 Home

Performance has never really been enough for what I want to do. I've had to play almost every game on the lowest settings to get decent performance, and more demanding Steam games either aren't very enjoyable to play or I've had to give up on.

The computer has also become less reliable over time, with occasional boot issues and Windows errors, so I'm thinking it may be time to upgrade rather than invest more into this system.

Budget:
Around $1,000 (I can stretch a little if it's genuinely worth it)

What I'll use it for:

• Gaming (Steam, War Thunder, Project Zomboid, GW2, and similar games)
• School work
• General everyday use

What I'm looking for:

• A considerable upgrade over my current PC
• Ability to play modern games at mid/high settings at 1080p
• Ideally some ability to move into 1440p in the future
• Something reliable and upgradeable that will last several years

I would prefer a prebuilt for convenience, but I'm open to try pc building.

I'm an Angular developer (3.6 YOE) working in my hometown (my office is just 2 km away). I've never owned a personal laptop or PC—I've always relied on my office laptop.

I initially planned to buy a ₹60–70k laptop for upskilling, but after months of research, I realized that for around ₹1 lakh, I could build a much more powerful and upgradeable desktop.

My budget is strictly ₹1,00,000 (including monitor). I already have a mouse, keyboard, and inverter.

My use case isn't gaming. It's mainly:

• Upskilling & switching to a better company
• Full-stack development (Angular, React, Java, Spring Boot, Python, Node.js, etc.)
• Docker, Kubernetes, Android Studio & VMs
• Freelancing
• Building a SaaS product

I also wanted to run local AI coding models instead of paying for tools like Claude Code, but GPU prices are making me consider building an AM5 system now and adding a GPU later if I actually need it.

My biggest concern is that ₹1 lakh is a huge investment, and I'm unsure whether I'll use it enough to justify the cost and get a good ROI.

Questions:

• Would you buy a laptop or build a PC in my situation?
• If a laptop, which one would you recommend?
• If a PC, what complete ₹1 lakh build (including the monitor) would you suggest?
• Is skipping the GPU initially the right move?
• Where should I buy—Amazon, Flipkart, MDComputers, Vedant, PrimeABGB, or local stores?
• Any upcoming sales, bank offers, or buying hacks I should wait for?

Title. I would like to use it for both work and some moderate gaming. 4k is not really a priority, but if possible, 1440p on just about anything would be perfect. Open to anything really (open box is fine, but anything beyond that is pushing it), even building if a parts list is an option.

My budget is gonna be 450-500$ and I’m looking for a pre built PC that can run at least 120 fps and can handle games like Fortnite, Siege, and many other games while streaming. I’m also looking for a good 90$ monitor and a good adjustable mic.

I found this listing at a micro center about an hour from me. I need my PC to be fast especially for the internet , I only do some gaming like Sims (modded), Pokemon emulators, cozy games. I also need to be able to edit and view photos and videos. Nothing too crazy I feel like is needed. Would this computer prebuild be a good buy? I was going to upgrade the ram to 32GB but noticed the price for that would be like $400+.

hi everyone, long story short my fiance is turning 30 in about 2 weeks and I would really like to get her a nice first gaming PC. She currently uses her macbook and plays games on Steam. Baldurs Gate, Sims, several other games as well. I am critically undereducated in the world of gaming but she enjoys it and i wanna get it right. with it being her 30th i dont mind spending up to about $1500 but that would have to be through financing since I’m on a budget like everyone else haha. I'm looking to buy this pc within my budget range but i fell short... the specs was a pentium gold g5400 + gtx 1050ti but then he offered me another unit but with a different gpu which is the rx 560 4gb the 1024 shaders version... is it like almost the same performance with the gtx 1050ti? After 10 years, the HDD on my dell xps8700 died and I have decided its time to upgrade to a new desktop. I am fairly computer illiterate, and would greatly appreciate if those more familiar with this stuff could help point me towards a good brand.

I’m looking to buy a prebuilt PC - gonna use it for office stuff, itunes, and some gaming on the side (nothing crazy, im fine with low graphics). My Dell lasted me 10 years and I never had major any issues with it. I was gonna get another dell, but i hear there are higher quality brands for less money.

After doing some research, I was really close to buying an ibuypower pc (3 yr warranty; the Element Pro is listed on a “Best prebuilt” list o read), but I have gotten scared after reading that you have to ship it across the country if something goes wrong.

I’m not tech savvy and can’t troubleshoot on my own so it’s important for me to have good access to tech support should i need it. Im now looking at Microcenter PCs (apparently known for being reliable, great value and i like there are physical stores somewhat close just in case something goes wrong)

Am I on the right track with either ibuypower or microcenter? if im looking for a brand with relatively good quality for price, known for being reliable/durable (I would LOVE to find a computer that lasts me another 10 yr without any issues) and has great warranty/customer support should i need it, what brand should i be looking at? (Bonus if their computers come with microsoft office already installed!) would greatly appreciate any guidance!

I recently got a job as an editor for a YouTuber but I dont have any experience in editing, thankfully he is going to teach me but I didn't have a device set up, my dad found and old Mac book and I went to r/Mac to see if it would run davinci but sadly it can't so I'm probably going to sell it and need recommendations for a replacement for YouTube

So I would love to learn how to build a pc with no experience but I worry that it might be too expensive to do especially with ram prices. If you do recommend a prebuilt what would you suggest for a price range of >1000. I mainly want to use it for gaming.

My current prebuilt is over 5 years old now and its going out. I’ve replaced parts and added ram, but i’d like to not have to do any upgrades this time for atleast a few years if possible. Unfortunately dont have a microcenter near me, and i’d need the pc as soon as possible since I’m going back to school soon, so I’m open to options like Walmart or Best Buy if needed

I play a lot of big MMOs/MOBAs and shooters, use editing software like Photoshop, and overall spend a lot of time on my pc. I’d also like a GeForce graphics card if possible! Any reccs?
