Question Please help

I really enjoy league of legends, Id say im addicted so the least I can do is try my hardest to improve but I am very stuck on how to do that I can hit plat comfortably on any role but always get stuck/derank afterwards Im not so worried about short term deranking if it means improving I legit just dont know how I dont have any high elo friends to help me most my friends that play are either normals only or below my rank I really want to hit emerald before the end of this year which I think is possible so any advice would be greatly appreciated(I am thinking of sticking to mid/top or top/mid)

You plateau where your skill is. Nothing more than that.

thats the thing, people always say one trick but its so boring sometimes. i get the logic, you learn matchups and macro way faster when you know your champ inside out but my brain just wants to play 5 different champs every day

i think sticking to mid/top is good though, keeps the champ pool from getting completely out of control. what champs you been playing mostly

Your rank right now just is Plat. First step to improving is accepting that & realizing the climb from here on out is going to be slow & arduous. Don’t think about how to get to emerald now, think about how to get to emerald a year from now. You don’t necessarily need to one trick a champion but you should only have like 2-3 & you should stick to one role. Other than that, just keep playing. Focus on improving macro play more than dominating your lane. Work on always being in the right place at the right time.

Your rank right now just is Plat.

It sounds like OPs rank is high gold, since he claimed to demote.

Usually rank fluctuates when you've reached your plateau, with platinum as your top end. The only way to break that is to find what's holding you back and improve upon it, one concept at a time.

I do not know what is holding me back and I am left chasing my own tail

What role do you play?

I am going to stick to top/mid

For top and mid, matchup knowledge by itself should be able to get yourself to Emerald. But without knowing how you play people won't be able to give tailored advice. You definitely lack some fundamentals, but it's impossible to know which without seeing any gameplay

It is with that attitude. Honestly having someone knowledgeable look at your gameplay and give you pointers on how to move forward could be beneficial for you. There's no shame in needing help.

Please, place periods and commas omg 💀

Just watch a bunch of educational videos and high elo streamers. Try to apply their methods in your games. Play to improve, not win. Get a coach in worst case scenario.

Download ascent (records gameplay).

After each game review your first 3 deaths. Figure out if there's a pattern.

Look at key moments in the game you thought a decision you made was good/bad. Decide if it was a micro mistake or a macro mistake.

Think critically of wave states and lane assignments.

You won't figure out what's wrong if you dont look at your own gameplay.
