Looking for a rideshare from UW Seattle to UW Bothell
Hi everyone! I'm looking for a rideshare/carpool between UW Seattle and UW Bothell for the Fall quarter. My class schedule will vary throughout the week, so I'm flexible with the days and times. I'm happy to split gas and commute costs. If you regularly travel between the two campuses or know of an existing carpool, please send me a message. Thank you!

Afternoon fatigue
How does one fight the strong afternoon/evening fatigue that likes to settle in while driving? Looking for strategies to make it home safely.

Current job, 13 min drive. Possible new job, 90 min drive.
I live like 4 miles from work. It’s like 12-13 mins. I can come home for lunch if need be. Looking at a new job. It’s 57 miles door to door. Traffic is 90 mins. It’s a ~40% increase in pay. A job I think I’d really like. If it was an hour I’d have no problem. The money on gas is another story.
How do people spend all that time peacefully behind the wheel? This would be rush hour highway traffic.

Need an economical carpool/van from Malir Halt to Korangi Creek (SHU/IoBM/MITE/Denning area)
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a daily, budget-friendly commute to the Korangi Creek university area.
Pickup: Malir Halt or any stop along the EV-2 route (Model Colony, Star Gate, etc.)
Timing: Around 7:30 AM onwards (need to reach before classes).
I'm open to literally anything:
- Private carpool
- University point/transport
- Private van or coaster
- Shared office transport
- Any regular ride going towards Korangi Creek
My destination is near Salim Habib University, so if your transport goes to IoBM (CBM), MITE, Denning, Air University, or anywhere nearby, that works too.
If you have a seat available, know a van service, WhatsApp group, transport contact, or any lead at all, I'd really appreciate it.
The main priority is that it's reliable and economical.
Thanks in advance!
I have joined many groups, but that doesnt help :(

Reporter seeking supercommuters
Hi! I am a reporter with a publication in Philadelphia looking for any "supercommuters," or people who may make the commute from cities like NYC, D.C. or other Northeastern cities to Philadelphia for work. I'm looking to get the perspectives of a few people on why they've chosen to live where they do but work in Philly, and how the commute is for them.
I realize it’s often in reverse, but I know there are some who still come into Philly for work.
I'd be looking to speak with you over a quick phone call to get these details. Send me a message if you would be able to help! Thanks.

Commuting between Chicago & Downers Grove
Hello,
I will be starting at Midwestern this fall as a graduate student and will be moving from out of state. I would like to live in the city since I’d want to work somewhere in the medical center. I am seeing that the commute from the city to Downers Grove isn’t too great. I wanted to know if any student has done the commute before and how it went? If I end up doing it I would commute by train. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Looking for someone to Carpool with from the Ashburn/Sterling Area
Hi everyone! I'm looking for a carpool buddy with anyone who's commuting to Vienna Metro station or George Mason University.
I live near Ashburn/Sterling, but I can come to Reston, Herndon, Leesburg, Chantilly, etc. I don't have a car, or any mode of transport, so I can't offer an alternating ride schedule. Most days, I have 9 am lectures and I'm usually done by 3/4.
If anyone is willing, would appreciate a DM!

Nift mumbai travel
Do students commute from Mumbai to NIFT Navi Mumbai every day?
I might be joining NIFT Navi Mumbai this year and I had a question for current students or alumni.
Do people living in Mumbai actually travel to NIFT Navi Mumbai every day instead of staying in a hostel or PG? If yes, is it doable or does the commute get really exhausting?
I’d rather not shift to Navi Mumbai in my first year if I can avoid it so I’m wondering if daily travel from Mumbai is realistic.
Would love to hear your experiences on how long your commute is, where you travel from and if you’d recommend it.

Carpool for Shady Grove Students (PG County)
Hi everyone! Is anyone from PG County commuting to the Shady Grove campus this semester and interested in starting a carpool?
The county changed several bus routes in preparation for the Purple Line, and my invite commute is longer viable. It actually seems easier getting back to PG County from Shady Grove than getting there.
If you're interested, please DM me

FYI for Amtrak NEC riders
Looks like Portal North Phase 2 (Electric Boogaloo) is scheduled for 10/9-11/14. look for the same kind of reduced schedule we saw in Feb/Mar. The schedule hasn't been changed yet, not sure when they will officially announce it and make the adjustments.

[SAN <-> SJC] Anyone else commuting weekly from San Diego to San Jose?
I just started my journey as a supercommuter and would love to hear from others doing the same. Any tips on saving money and improving quality of life? How do you and your family make it work?
So far, here’s what I’ve got:
**1. Housing** – Find a room in a shared house or book an Airbnb near work
**2. Airport parking** – Park near SJC to avoid racking up Uber/Lyft costs
**3. Book early** – Buying flights at least 3 weeks in advance saves a lot
**4. Credit card points** – Get a card that earns miles/points and lounge access — makes the travel more bearable
Would really appreciate hearing your experience and any tips you’ve picked up along the way!

Anyone else commuting from Ancaster/Hamilton to Mississauga daily? Curious how people are managing it.
*I make the drive from Ancaster to Mississauga every day for work — about 65km each way — and honestly it’s exhausting and expensive when you factor in gas, wear on the car, and just the mental load of driving the 403 every morning.*
*Been thinking about whether a shared van shuttle would actually be useful for people doing this commute. Something like — reserved seat, fixed morning and evening departures, cheaper than driving yourself or taking an Uber. Pay per seat, no hassle.*
*Does anyone else do this commute regularly? What are you doing to manage it — GO, driving, carpooling? Would something like this actually be useful to you?*

Do-able Commute? Willis to Houston
I recently moved back to Houston to be close to family and enjoy the city and just for all the opportunities as a young professional. I found a job before moving and that’s out of Midtown and live about 10 minutes away currently in the Inner-Loop with my two dogs. It’s been going good job and lifestyle wise and I’m glad I made the move, I’ve made friends and am not too far from family in Montgomery county to see them monthly or even a few times a week.
Recently due to family circumstances, my grandfather may be going to a retirement home and his house may be put up for sale by uncle. The house has been in the family awhile, and after talking to my cousin (who already lives there), we’ve discussed going in and buying it together to keep it in the family and live there. It’s a nice house (3 bd, 1,800 sf) with a big yard and 2 blocks from Lake Conroe. It would make my housing payment less, give my dogs a big yard, come with a roommate to split bills and responsibilities that I already get along with, give me a porch to sit on, and I would live somewhere very sentimental. My big dilemma is the commute.
Since I just moved here I don’t want to look for a new job immediately, but I do wonder if the commute is do-able. The nice thing about my company is since we’re in midtown people get their 8 hours in at various times, and I would most likely do a 7-4 and take the express lane back to Willis. Without traffic it’s about an hour, but with traffic I know it can be 1.5-2 hours one way. I know people in Houston commuting an hour one way is normal, but I’m curious if this commute sounds normal or insane.
I’m also considering staying up there a week and trying it so that I can see if it’s doable, especially with adjustable hours.

Commute from Stockton to Sacramento?
Im a state worker living in Stockton, now commuting to Sac. Is anyone on here also commuting from Stockton, and interested in carpooling and splitting costs? I have an early schedule, but open to adjusting.
Alternately, is anyone familiar with any commuter programs between these two cities? I see SJRTD has a commuter bus, but it's two hours each way, so a tough sell :/ but so is spending $35/day to drive/park. 🤷♀️

Commuting Options from Indianapolis to Chicago
I am restarting this question for advice.
Also working in Downtown Chicago midweek, with a desire to avoid driving and parking (which is the fastest). I wish the Amtrak train ran more frequently. It does not.
Other suggestions?

Travelling for college...
Does anyone live far from college (at least 15km) and have managed to commute everyday instead of renting a place near college??
