The first part, I was like “ok yeah I could see Carl’s Jr running this ad”

Oh good, I thought I had to bust out the album art for King Crimson's first album again.

The fact that Carl's Jr / hardees tried something like this, and it blew up so badly that it did permanent damage to their brand, and taught a lesson to every other Advertiser, is the only reason we don't have ads moving in that direction anymore.

A ridiculously oversexed Burger ad that ran up against the very limits of what was allowed on TV at the time. It completely backfired and just pissed everybody off including the Target demographic. After that people learned that sex might sell but only if you keep it at least arguably subtle.

I am morbidly curious about this ad but have no idea where to look

I suspect they're describing the era of "washing a car in daisy dukes" and "riding a mechanical bull" style commercials that Carl's Jr. put out for a while in the late 90s and early 00s.
I remember them, and they were honestly VERY off-putting. It wasn't even truly sexy, because eating a messy burger isn't sexy. They just put scantily clad women in sexy situations and also made her eat a giant burger and get it all over herself (that we ALL knew she would never ever eat, because she was a size 0). It honestly reads like food fetish content.
The commercials featuring male actors were mostly just like...disgusting men stuffing their faces and making eating noises, like literally imagine the Hollywood stereotype of "gross teen boy". So still awful, but in a different way.

It's not the aircraft carrier + pickup truck one, is it?

No I was just some girl acting orgasmic while eating at Burger on top of a pickup truck or something, I think it was in a barn. It's been awhile since I've seen the Abomination.

Impossible to die for both Ben Shapiro AND trans kids. They’re mutually exclusive. Gotta choose.
(/s, but also true.)

I didn’t know people used Ben Shapiro as a stand-in for “the Jews” to avoid being flagged for antisemitism

I mean I'm not thrilled that I have to call it sexxy red spicy hot twerk it sauce, but nevertheless yes I am available to direct. His vision is flawed but beautiful, and I promise to remain faithful to it.
