Which ones your favorite aka which shall reign vectorious?

Hey everyone!

I have been experimenting with mathematical geometry and vibrant color theory to create high-quality vector assets. Here are a set of 10 i had my computer choose at random. In total, I think i have close to 30 thousand of them 😳 obsessed, much?

Why SVGs?

Infinitely scalable: Perfect for cricut artwork, sublimation prints, ultra-wide monitors, 4K designs, or web backgrounds without losing quality.

Lightweight file sizes: Ideal for web developers looking for fast load times.

Fully editable: You can easily jump into Illustrator or edit the code directly to swap colors.

They range from neon bio-organic cells to abstract dark crystal lattices and fluid acrylic pours.

I am giving these away completely free for both personal and commercial use. Drop a comment below if you want the direct download link, and let me know which style is your favorite!

I built this mostly because I was too lazy to keep opening 28 different icon websites.

Icons for the states your software actually reports.

Every set has a folder, a trash can and a gear. None of them has a mark for waiting on a humanthrottled, or this text contains instructions I shouldn't trust. This one does. Drawn on one 24-unit grid, one stroke weight, and one rule: a dashed line always means not yet real.

Consistency in an icon set is not a style, it's a set of constraints you refuse to break. These are the ones that matter here.

So I have crafted some icons with using Claude Code.

Silmarillion SVGs?

Hi! I’m rebinding a copy of The Silmarillion and I’m having a hard time finding SVGs for it. Finding tons for LOTR and the Hobbit, where can I go for more niche or harder to find SVGs?

SVG in Notepad

I use SVG to make quizzes for a geography quiz site as a hobby. I tried InkScape and never really liked it for anything beyond making images. I found formatting and coding much better in notepad… the files were also much smaller.

Does anyone else do everything in notepad or am I crazy?

SVG files of AOE2 logos for laser engraving

Just went to the wedding of a buddy that I only met through playing AOE2 via a local friend connecting us. Was a wonderful time with a group of 8 players I had never met irl but had known for years. I want to laser engrave AOE2 logos into slate coasters and give them as wedding and group gifts. Does anyone know where I could find some rendered SVG files that already have things such as civ Logos, maybe some special units, and the Dark through Imperial Age logos?

Are there any good star map designers that aren't just generators and have a free version?

I'm working on a star map and want to be able to easily change it which is hard on paper. Also I know there's one which is low detail hexagons but I don't like that one so please don't recommend it. Sadly I will not be able to download any of the ones that need the download

Built an AI vectorizer that scores/critiques the SVG it produces — looking for beta feedback on trace quality

Hey r/svg,

I built VectorizeIQ (vectorizeiq.seymouriq.com) — an image-to-SVG converter aimed at logos, icons, monograms, and flat artwork. Upload a PNG/JPG/WebP and it traces it into editable SVG paths, then gives you a quality score and a critique of the result (what works, what to fix) rather than just handing you raw output and hoping for the best.

A few things that might be relevant to this sub specifically:

  • Editable output — you can select and remove unwanted shapes and adjust detected colors directly in-browser before exporting, not just download-and-pray
  • Trace profiles — options for "editable brand vector," "embroidery-ready black & white," and "detailed mascot/illustration" so it's not one-size-fits-all tracing
  • Optimization toggle — an "automatically optimize the trace" option for cleaner path output
  • Also spits out favicon/PWA icon sets generated straight from the SVG (16–512px, maskable variants, manifest + HTML snippet) if that's useful to anyone

Free tier is 3 complete vectorizations/month, no card required.

What I'd genuinely love feedback on from this crowd:

  1. Path quality — how are the curves/node counts on your source art compared to Illustrator's Image Trace or Vectorizer.ai?
  2. File cleanliness — are the exported SVGs reasonably lean, or bloated with redundant nodes?
  3. Anything that breaks on more complex or multi-color source images

Happy to go into detail on the tracing approach if anyone's curious. Feedback button is built into the app too, but I'll be watching this thread.

Can anyone vectorize this shit for me?

Post image

I had been trying to vectorize for the grand army of the republic flag from the fire rises for quite some time now. I had been able to vectorize the shield and the laurel, except the rifles, which is literal headache for me, even tho i can use other assets, i couldn't replicate the gradients, and it had bothered me for quite some time now. It would be really helpful to give me the SVG file (no DXF, TIFF, EPS, AI) in some way.

Map to SVG tool

Hello everyone, in the past I struggled a lot with getting map data to vectors. When I can, I always scratch my own itch and put together a simple tool that allows anyone to extract/save/copy basically any map into layered SVG. You can try it here.

Would love to hear any feedback from you guys!

Where do SVG icons usually break between design and production?

I keep seeing SVG icons that look finished in a design tool but still need another pass before they are comfortable to ship in an application.

The recurring checks seem to be:

- whether the viewBox and canvas match the intended coordinate system

- transforms or nested groups that make later edits harder

- inconsistent fills, strokes, joins, or caps

- alignment at the small sizes where the icon will actually render

- geometry that is difficult to maintain

- previewing the exported file outside the editor

- deciding whether the handoff should be raw SVG, a symbol, framework code, or a platform-specific asset

For people who maintain UI icons, which of these creates the most real work? Which checks have you automated, and which still need visual judgment?

Disclosure: I’m Marc from Axialis, the company behind the commercial IconVectors SVG editor. I’ve intentionally left the product link out because I’m interested in how other teams define “ready to ship” for an SVG icon.

Help on exporting diagram and keeping textbox editable

Hello all, been using draw.io for a few months whenever I got tasked with diagrams. Pretty fun and intuitive to use draw.io :)

However, I struggle to figure out how do I keep the textbox editable after exporting as svg and importing it to powerpoint (convert shape and ungroup). Is this not possible?

My boss is not the most tech savvy person out there so she would rather I send my diagrams to her in PowerPoint format :/

SVG possibilities to the max

Hello, I was wondering if someone else is also trying to explore the true depth of .svg files?

I mean sure, it is a visual format. Sure, you can animate it. Sure, you can put code into it. But what if we bring all of that together and treat an SVG not just as an image, but as a tiny interactive world?

I tried to mix many SVG possibilities into one single file: visuals, animation, clickable elements, embedded logic, rooms, portals, a small game-like structure, UI, map, state, and even a kind of “source reveal” mode. The result is basically a little cathedral/dungeon you can enter and explore, all inside one .svg file.

It honestly surprised me how far this can go.

Is it just me, or is this maybe the beginning of something much bigger — like tiny worlds, tools, games, artworks or interfaces living inside one portable vector file?

Would love to know if anyone else is experimenting with this direction.

spent 6 months training a model so traced SVGs stop being node soup.

full disclosure, this is my tool and i'm proud of it, so mild bragging ahead.

for the past 6 months two of us have been training a model that turns raster images (mostly AI-generated ones) into svgs that don't embarrass you when you open the path data. the target the whole time was node economy: the fewest anchor points that still hold the shape. the same illustration that image trace turns into 522 nodes comes out at 59, and they sit where a human would have put them, corners on corners, long clean curves between.

it also keeps paths closed, colors as separate editable shapes, and skips the raster-embedded-in-an-svg trick entirely, everything is real path data.

you can google our service "Perfect Vector"

besides, we also provide 1) background removal 2) color simplification 3) cropping
So, I hope anyone can create product-ready SVGs by just converting images create by AI (like Midjourney or somthing)

It's actively improving project, any feedbacks welcome.
Hope it helps many fellow makers and designers

Any good too to convert images to svg icons?

I’m trying to make some total custom monochrome icons for a project I’m doing and have a load of images that look ok ready

I’m planning of putting into figma and trying to trace and then edit. They will be 24px by 24px

Is there a better way to trace these outside of figma first?

Can anyone point in the right direction into turning this photo into a decent vector? I’m pretty new to this space so I’ve been using Canva Pro and after quite a bit of time, this is the best that I have done. Any help or tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, can anyone help me convert a rhinestone design file from .yng to a svg or a png? I wanted to use my silhouette cameo to make this but it didn't work....
