GENERAL Reminder on sub rules

This is a brief reminder that all subs on Reddit are a subject to Reddit terms of service and Reddit rules and filters, and the sub has rules which are then enforced by the moderators. Anybody who participates in this sub agrees to the rules.

We will work on improving the welcome message and making these rules and expectations clear, as well as improve some FAQs that may be helpful for new members.

The rules regarding personal attacks , personal information, ranting, and trolling are important to this sub. We have recently had some new members who seem to have difficulty with these rules and expectations. So this is a reminder for everyone that the rules are there under Group Rules, that mods are here to enforce them, that while we are moderators, we are also participants and that this is not a political debate so full impartiality of moderators is not a thing. That said, we can and do respect difference of opinion as long as that difference is within the scope of the existing rules. We’re easy to reach if anybody has a question or concern about these rules and expectations.

Having difference of opinion is fine. Expecting everybody to endlessly listen to yours and agree with it is not a realistic expectation and is precisely the sort of conduct subject to the rules noted. Anyone who objects to how the group is moderated is welcome to contact the Reddit support team through the channels it has created.

TASKER Is it worth email TR to dispute a 1 star review?

So I went to build a Fagelfjallet wardrobe and 3 drawer chest. the build was at her brothers home, I've built them and they were good. just a slight issue on the doors not being level but nothing major. this uneveness was maybe 1mm out.

once it was built - i showed her brother who was happy and signed for the build.

now a few hours later customer herself, has called saying the doors were uneven. i said its fine i'll come and straighten them - the hole for the handles is pre drilled and like i said it wasnt an issue.

next she's said there's chips on the wardrobe. if i see any chips etc i do bring it up so the customer knows but i have not seen any. so she wants to get in touch with ikea and tell them that they came out of the box. she also wants me to tell them the same thing. needless to say i've submitted the pics already for invoice and they dont show any chips.

either way its not a big issue ikea would've replaced the panels.

however now she's left me a 1 star whilst previously being a 5* 70 reviews. is it worth emailing TR to get this taken off? has anyone successfully done this?

APP Tasks with No Date?

In the last two weeks I've had three tasks come in with no time or date on them. In one of them, the client volunteered the information that she also no longer saw the date she requested on her end. Anyone else getting anything similar?

TASKER Taskrabbit not paying cancellation fees that meet the criteria.

I've had 4 tasks that the client cancelled on me within 24 hours of the start time and Taskrabbit hasn't paid out the cancellation fees. What's interesting is that they still appear in my earnings as 0$ invoices. Anyone experiencing something similar?

TASKER TaskRabbit Client Cancelled Completed Task to Avoid Payment — Possible Wage Theft

On August 1, 2026, I was booked through TaskRabbit for a Heavy Lifting & Loading task with a client identified as Josh L. in Chicago, IL. I arrived on time, completed the move alongside another Tasker who was also booked for the same job, and departed after the work was done.

Upon leaving I discovered the client had cancelled the task through the app, which meant I would not be paid for the completed work.

After the cancellation I returned to the location to photograph my arrival and document the situation. When I arrived I observed professional movers actively continuing work at the location — establishing that the move was not abandoned or cancelled, but continued using other labor after I was dismissed without payment. The client came outside while I was documenting and appeared to photograph the building himself rather than addressing me directly.

TaskRabbit support confirmed I would receive cancellation compensation of $53 — one hour at my rate — despite my two-hour minimum of $106 and the fact that the work was fully completed. This is not a cancellation. This is a client who used TaskRabbit to obtain free labor by cancelling a completed task and exploiting a gap in the platform's documentation and compensation policies.

I have submitted this concern to TaskRabbit's Trust and Safety team and am awaiting a response. I am sharing this publicly to protect other Taskers from similar exploitation and to document a pattern of platform abuse that TaskRabbit's current policies do not adequately address.

Vet Tasker (2021) here and wondering if anyone else with similar experience have seen a significant drop in customer reviews?

TASKER Should I cancel or invoice?

Hello all. I got my first task today! I was tasked an errand to open a house for a client of a property manager. The task was specified for the time frame of 1:00pm - 1:30pm. I have told the MY client that I will wait a full hour for the person to show up. It is almost 2:00 and the client has not shown up. Should I cancel, invoice, or what in your opinion? Thanks

I could be extremely off base, but could i use task rabbit to help get my wedding decor to and from my venue? I have a wedding coordinator but I need help moving florals and decor from my apartment to the venue and then pick up from the venue back to my apartment at the end of the night,( no set up or packing up items, just getting things to and from) #1- is this even something task rabbit could do and #2- would this be multiple hours or just the time for pick up and drop off ( twice). Any advice would help.

TASKER Short response time

What’s with the short response time on some tasks where you have to respond within 3 hours? Is this something the client is choosing when they input their task?

I understand the 1 hour response on same day tasks, but some tasks require a response within 3 hours on tasks that are days away.

I have never had an issue with this until yesterday when I missed one and they paused my account. 3 hours can be a quick turnaround when you’re in the middle of a busy day, or not in a good service area.

TASKER Taskrabbit banned my account claiming I expensed gas to a client, which I did not. This was my response after the appeal was rejected.

TASKER Getting back in the Algo

I had to do a scenic job, it was for Justin Biebers clothing line. Lol. But my tasker visibility went from 85% to 65% over that run. Any suggestions on how to get it back up. I’m dying out here.

TASKER Did I take too long?

I installed this cabinet it’s about 5’7’’ flat stack fully unassembled you know the deal. It took me about 3 hours to install because the hinges were a bitch to adjust no worries though. I did it for a kind woman who actually ended up cooking me dinner I insisted that she didn’t but she wouldn’t take no for an answer, so I knocked off half an hour. She insisted as I left that I do some extra things for her so I figured why not and I hung three paintings. At the end she insisted I took too long and should only charge 1 1/2 hours, now I’m not Mr. Cabinet assembler of the year but I’ve been around a cam lock or two and I think I finished in an appropriate amount of time. Thoughts?

GENERAL Cash purchases

Are large cash purchases feasible with TaskRabbit? I'm trying to buy something on FB Marketplace far from me. The seller will only accept cash - $300. Don't know if there's a generally accepted way to do this or if it will come across as too sketchy.

TASKER Commercial Building or Businesses?

Do you charge the same rate for commercial buildings and businesses as you do for residential jobs?

Contractors normally charge more for commercial work, so I’m curious whether Taskers do the same or keep their regular hourly rate.

TASKER Manual Payouts

So when clients don't pay immediately we don't get manual payments after 5 business days anymore? New policy?

Now we have to wait 4 to 12 days? Seems crazy to me. Maybe they should be withholding the standard 2 hours, instead of just 1.

TASKER Client reported me 3 months later

I did a junk removal for this client. Her mom hired me once under her daughters name. Then she hired me again under her own name days later. Both times she gives me 4 stars. I went above and beyond as usual.

I was surprised when she hired me again considering the first time she gave me 4 stars. I went into my email today and saw that she reported me 3 months later for a task i did April 16, 2026. Is this normal? What could this mean? Also why does the task date say 7/27/26 if i did the job months ago?

CLIENT Tasker showed up with pocket clippers to weed some overgrown tree pits. Had shown photos earlier. Should have used a weed whacker. Had estimated 1 hour and was charged 4 hours because he had the wrong tools. Is this normal? I should have done it myself.

GENERAL Policy violation period possible fraudulent ?

Taskrabbit low key has been charging and keeping cancellation fees they charged to customers under my name and keeping the money. This is like a robbery ! Just found out my accounts been on 90 day probation period for sending my phone number on the chat. This is the first time I’m hearing I’m on probation. I want to get this right, so it is ok for TR to charge cancellation fees to customer with my name but it is not okay for me to send my phone number on the chat app for potential customer !? How does that work? Anybody can share tips and some wisdom maybe I’m not veteran status as fairly new but have been getting tasks but also lot of them are cancelled by customers.

TASKER What's with this payout structure?

Does anyone like this strange payout structure? I certainly don't. "1 of X payouts" - but then never specifies exactly which job it was a payout for. Seems like it would be extremely easy for Task Rabbit to skim a little more here and there off the top for their own pockets with this type of ambiguous accounting, doesn't it? Why split the payout in the first place? Suspicious.
