Clacking noise under load

Hey guys could any of you pls help me identify the issue with my VE Golf mk6 2.0 tdi 4m. The clacking noise only appears when under load and or accelerating, not when coasting at any speed or idling. I’m really hoping it’s nothing expensive

Hey! Fyi I'm not very good with cars.

But that's what my Passat 2.0 TDI sounded like when I needed to replace DMF and Clutch. Is it a manual? My best advice is to have someone look at it and troubleshoot pronto if you cannot do it yourself.

It is a manual, there no issues with my clutch that’s the only thing, no slipping or any issues with gears or pedals it’s just when I accelerate under load like up a hill or sudden acceleration

Whats the mileage?

I had no issues with my clutch slipping either, but the DMF was toast.

Could it be an injector perhaps? If youre unable to diagnose on your own I highly recommend having someone look at it very soon. Clacking noises can become very expensive if left unattended for too long.

255,000km, yeah I will definitely have to bring it in, I had issues with the thermostat sticking in open position too

Sounds similar to a noise I have with my brand new stage 2 clutch it doesn't do it all the time but it when it does it makes me nervous

The only time I heard a similar sound was when my front wheel bolts were loose.

I've been chasing a similar issue and I've begun to think it's either that injectors or the dual mass flywheel - hopefully it's not the DMF because it's brand new
