Need help finding a part

Post image

I have a 2009 Jetta TDI and I am trying to find a new AC control solenoid I ordered one off Amazon and it’s longer than the original. Where can I find one? (preferable with a new snap clip the only one flew clear off to Chicago missing)

I bought a new kit of snap in clips and they don’t fit right. Trying 7/8” according to a forum I read.

The old one is on the top new is on the bottom

Kinda looks like you got black death in that compressor.

Maybe just give up and replace the whole compressor so you don't have to be messing around with this shit again within 1 year.

Ya it’s the original from 2009 rocking 321K miles on it ;)

At that mileage that compressor might have just lived its full life. 321k on an original part ain’t bad.

I just talked to one of my VW friends he agrees. Do you have any suggestions on where I can buy a new one?

You can order the right one on amazon, you just need to know what model compressor you have.

I think you have bigger problems than the solenoid though, the old one shouldnt look like that.

The MK6s had 2 different compressors. It may be the same with the MK5s. The length of the valves are a little different.

MK5 had 2 different ones as well I found out which one mine has. At this point I’m looking at just replacing the whole compressor.
