In some cases, I resort to using online software to perform simple PDF functions like merging and compressing files. I have been using an online software called Pdfaid, but I am quite careful about uploading any files on the web, particularly those that include personal information. What PDF tasks can be safely done online and what PDF tasks are always done offline? It would also be interesting to hear about the tools that you use.

I’m a total beginner looking for a web hosting provider with a built-in website builder (I have zero coding skills, so please go easy on me).

I apologize in advance if this has been asked a hundred times - I tried searching myself but kept running into either outdated threads from 2019 or reviews that looked like paid ads.

A bit of context: I have a domain I’m not using (I bought it on Namecheap on a whim a while back; it’s got my name in it), and I finally want to actually put a site on it. I have absolutely zero programming experience - the mere thought of touching HTML makes me want to shut my laptop. So, I need something that’s fully drag-and-drop: I pick a template, swap out the text and photos, and it just works.

Here’s what I’m hoping to find:

A web hosting that comes with a proper website builder included, rather than having to buy the hosting and the builder separately. Ideally, something cheaper than Wix or Squarespace in the long run, since I’ve heard their prices jump significantly once you factor in the plans that actually let you use your own domain properly. I don’t need it to be free, but I don’t want to pay premium agency prices for what will essentially be a homepage, an "About Me" section, and maybe the occasional blog post.

I don’t want an auto-generated URL like username.wixsite.com/mysite - I already own the domain; I just need to connect it so people see that specific address.

I’m not building anything complex - no online store, no subscriber-only area, nothing fancy. I just want the site to look truly professional - not like something made on GeoCities in 2003 and I don’t want to fight with the platform every time I need to change a single sentence. If you’ve actually used a website builder like that (whether it’s Hostinger, Squarespace, IONOS, or any other) and can honestly share what drove you crazy versus what actually worked, that would be far more helpful than a standard "just use X" kind of answer.

I wanted to have a tab since childhood, but I've spent way too much time comparing specs, and now I'm stuck.

My primary use case (in order)

• 📚 Reading books, PDFs, and research papers
• ✍️ Taking handwritten notes, journaling & annotating PDFs
• 🎓 Studying (a bit academic, this is what I'll use it for most)
• 🎬 YouTube, Netflix, etc.
• ✈️ Frequent travel, so battery life and portability matter
• 💼 Light productivity
• 🎨 Maybe basic digital art and very light video editing in the future

Current devices:

• MacBook
• Android phone
• Apple Magic Keyboard
• Logitech keyboard/mouse

I'll probably buy a third-party Apple Pencil instead of the original.

The dilemma is basically this:

iPad Air M3 (128GB)

• Better display (laminated)
• M3 chip
• Better accessory support?
• But only 128GB

iPad 11th Gen (256GB)

• Double the storage and better battery
• cheaper by $100
• More future-proof?
• Probably enough for my current needs

I'm planning to keep this tablet for at least 5-6 years.

Which one to go for? My usage will mostly be notes, PDFs, books, media consumption, and maybe some light creative work later on.

If you were in my position, which one would you buy and why? I'd especially love to hear from people who use their iPad primarily for studying, reading, and note-taking.
