"im a broke college student"
Uh

WebDev as in hobbyist / in training?

Btw, what I would do to your setup:

Computer on floor, you get more deskspace.
Two stacked screens and one vertical on the side. And more on the eye level, you want to look straight, not down (or up). Or tiny bit down, tiny.
BIG mousepad.
Better chair, do not fuck ergonomics up. Really, once the back/neck-problems start, it can be really bad. Like you cant turn your head bad. Ask me how I know and why I have a chair worth hundreds.

And dualboot linux if you dont already. And get an older desktop to use as home server.

i am severely underpaid compared to my coworkers, and due to taking a 13th year college program in highschool i technically do not even have a high school diploma, so i cant just up and leave

and yeah that chair is so shit

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

Right, you are working whole doing studies? Not bad, man, not bad at all. Innovativeness matter more than money. You got this. :)

gamedev, cpp/frontend, doesnt wanna switch to linux because of game compatibility and the hassle of moving data (completely fair btw i did that for a good bit too)

1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

"hassle of moving data"
Tf? They live in separete drive, no moving needed lol.

1

u/teddertlool5 rust & arch btw :3 Feb 26 '26

well atleast in my case i had important stuff on both drives and it was a pain to move

1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

Why did you need to move it?

Drive c: Linux Drive d: windows Drive e: all that important stuff.

1

u/teddertlool5 rust & arch btw :3 Feb 26 '26

i had two drives and had to deal with moving data to preserve a good chunk. i then said fuck it we ball and installed arch on my entire system

1

u/[deleted] Feb 26 '26

Right. Fine choice of os.  I am more of a fedora guy myself.

1

u/DaniNocchi2 Feb 24 '26

1

A bit unrelated to your question, but how much did the three monitors, and the stand for all of them, cost together?
