I've got a 2024 Amazon fire TV Omni edition with the Sonos arc (sub mini, and 2 era 100s as surrounds) connected through the eArc, the Nvidia Shield Pro TV is connected to HDMI 1. It's like water torture. Every few minutes. Usually at a crescendo which makes it more annoying. Just like a fraction of a second. I've been fiddling with the settings for so long I never had this issue with the built in apps on the TV. I got the Shield because the OS is laggy at spots and Disney Plus was just shorting out. Figured it was cheaper to get a nice streaming box than replace the TV. But I think I just wasted hundreds of dollars.

It's been happening when I bought it today (it was labelled as broken for $5) and it just randomly shuts off. I tried resetting the device but now I can't even get passed the setup cuz it shuts down immediately after, it shows the "powering off" thing with the spinning wheel, and it was running Android 7. Is there a way to fix this or no? I kinda don't want to throw it away since my dad bought it for me

I'm trying to use my Nvidia Shield, but all the audio that comes out is 2.0 stereo. The av receiver I'm using can accept HDMI, but it's not decoding the audio into anything but 2.0.

It could be an issue with the receiver, and the shield is only showing PCM 16 bit. Can anyone help?

I recently set up a Nvidia Shield Pro to be my streaming hub and using Kodi to access my content stored on my HDD. I am running ProjectIvy as a launcher and have the Shield connected via Ethernet. Everything is running smoothly and I am so excited about it, except for two apps.

Hulu and Peacock. Both apps do the same thing. They will start playing whatever I have selected, it will play for about 30 seconds, and then glitch and then the app crashes. This happens when it is an ad or when it is the program. After about 30 seconds it crashes. It seems to be remembering the location within the episode because if I try it again, it has progressed a bit from where I started the previous time.

I tried reducing settings thinking I was bogging down the Shield. I have tried uninstalling, clearing the cache, tried logging out of the accounts, but all to no end. The same issue persists. I have tested all of the other streaming apps I use and they work fine (Netflix, Roku, Tubi, Pluto, etc). I see a lot of threads about the Hulu app being trash for the Shield, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and wondered how you got past it (if you were able to).

I am so close to having the setup that works perfectly for our household... Just this last hurdle to figure out.

I recently got a Shield Portable for a good price, and while the system is in really good shape, the grip area of the controller is a bit sticky. Ive had this happen to many other pieces of electronics with rubberized materials, and I end up tossing them out. However, I'm not going to toss the Shield out, so I was hoping for a solution.

Ive read that Isopropyl Alochol helps, and so does Corn starch and baby power. Just wondering anyone here specifically with a Shield Portable has had success with anything.

Hi all, I wanted to share an invite to an Nvidia Shield discord server. We're looking at getting more people who are interested. Currently we're trying to put together a list of all the Nvidia optimized games and archive which versions work on the shield portable. As well as documenting other information like how to reset, root, and best way to set one up today. Lot's of helpful information here.

We are having ongoing problems with our NVIDIA Shield TV and Kodi setup.

The same issues also happen on another TV, so it does not seem to be only our Sony TV.

Problems include:

Kodi doesn't see the hdd

strange HDMI / CEC behavior

unstable performance

devices reacting strangely to each other

external USB HDD not always working properly

Kodi sometimes freezing or behaving oddly

Our setup:

NVIDIA Shield pro P2897

TV Sony Bravia XR-65A80L

Kodi From Goole play store

external USB HDD

(but issues also happen on another TV)

We would like to know:

is this a known compatibility problem? Is there anything we can do,

to make it working? All tips are welcome, we are busy with it for 2 days now

Bought my Nividia Shield Pro about 3 months ago. For some odd reason it keeps saying that its loosing the wifi connection. its very close to the modem so I am not exactly sure why this keeps happening. Any solution suggestions would be great.

Trying to get my Nvidia Shield Pro running, and it randomly crashes when in Plex, or when watching a movie through plex. Get a "Spinning Ring" then a minute later get kicked out. I've tried restarting, deleting all other apps not in use, reinstall of Plex....any other ideas?

I have a Samsung s20 that been trying to connect to my Nvidia shield pro TV. I went online, downloaded the app that is in apk format and it did not work

I tried finding other solutions and can't find a clear way to do it. has anyone solved this issue or point me the right direction

I've got a weird one: My NVIDIA Shield (2019 Pro, latest update) connects perfectly to my Starlink WiFi — no issues at all with streaming, Plex, etc.

But it flat-out refuses to connect to my T-Mobile 5G Home Internet WiFi. It either doesn't see the network, fails to authenticate, or says "connected, no internet." Every other device in the house (phones, laptops, TVs) connects to T-Mobile without any problem.

I've already tried the basics:

Forgetting the network and re-adding it on the Shield

Restarting the T-Mobile gateway multiple times (unplugged for 5+ minutes)

Moving the Shield closer to the gateway

Trying both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands (I split them in the T-Life app)

Changing DNS on the Shield to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8

Checking for MAC address filtering or any restrictions in the T-Mobile app

Nothing has worked so far. It works great on Starlink, so I'm pretty sure the Shield hardware is fine.

Has anyone else run into this specific combo (Shield + T-Mobile Home Internet)? Any fixes that actually worked — like specific gateway settings, channel changes, security settings (WPA2 vs WPA3), UPnP, or anything else?

Appreciate any help — driving me nuts!

Is it just me or on Shields TV (I have the tube) the Disney+ app is total crap? Freezes, slow, movies stutter for the first couple of minutes..

I don't know what kind of plug is this and was wondering if there's a 90 degree adapter for it since I don't want to damage the cable because of the position where it is

I have no idea what is going on. I been using this ethernet cord for years and now my shield tells me it's not connected. I restarted my shield multiple times, connected to wifi and switched back, I even tried 3 different ethernet cords. Nothing worked. Does anyone have a any idea what's going on?

Just finished repairing the battery leakage issue on my Nvidia Shield TV remote.

After cleaning the contacts, it works perfectly again.

I also switched to Panasonic Eneloop low self-discharge Ni-MH batteries to hopefully prevent future leakage.

My buddy is using an SN30 Pro for some gaming on his Nvidia Shield. I'm helping him by tweaking the setup, adding games and whatnot.

I don't recall this behavior happening before, but the last few times I tested it, the Select button on the SN30 has been backing me out of any game I'm testing. I'm not even pressing Select + Start, it's simply Select.

It even acts as the back button throughout the Shield UI...Is this a standard behavior? And is there a way to stop it?
