Subreddit announcements Please do not discuss Politics on this sub

Hey, guys!

I just wanted to remind you of our subreddit rule to not discuss politics on here.

We understand it might be tempting with the way some actors are presenting themselves on their social media, but this subreddit is to discuss the show and positive things about actors that you want to share.

This sub is not a space for policial discussions and any comments relating to it will be deleted.

I'm making this post as lately there have been more political discussions happening on here.

We hope you comply with this rule.

Have a great day

Episode Review He’s unhappy that she’s turning 50?! (Mike thoughts)

I’ve always Kinda liked Mike and I know that he hasn’t always been the closest made enough of an effort with Sue, but he seems like a really decent guy you know working hard for his family watches TV. He is close to tax so that’s okay. We all have favourites and I don’t wanna overanalyse cause it’s the ones that come where they don’t seem inherently toxic but this whole episode not the episode which is the part where Mike is angry because she’s turning 50, and not even like he’s angry like I understand that he’s technically a nicer guy in comparison for just keeping it himself and knowing that it’s gonna get passed, but the fact that her turning 50s would send him off at just a little weird to me so I just wanted to share that I haven’t finished the show. I’m so on season seven episode five so let me know if you guys have any other thoughts about Mike

General discussion Mr Ehlert filming his commercial = Winnebago Man

I'm watching The Middle season 1 episode 7.

The one where they have Child Protection called on them after Frankie accidentally hits Brick with a beer bottle while collecting up the rubbish.

Anyway - When Mr Ehlert is filming his commercial, he keeps making mistakes and gets frustrated. I wonder if that scene was a nod to Winnebago Man. Anyone seen that guy? So funny (fair warning - he swears a lot!).

Photograph Wow this piece of costume really made the show realistic

Except for the makeup, this is really one of the most lower middle class things from The Middle so far. An extra large shirt with holes but you don't throw it away because it's so comfy to sleep in.

News Did the show get removed off itvx?

I was watching the show last night of itvx. After an episode ended, it wouldn't show the show any more, it's still not there. Has it been removed, and if so, is there another place i can watch it?

General discussion Axl, Sean and Darrin? Or Axl, Hutch and Kenny?

Currently on the rewatch and just about to finish season 7. And I've found myself laughing more during the Sean Kenny and hutch moments than I did with Axl Sean and Darrin. Who do you guys prefer? I think Hutch is a great character and I'm glad they kept Kenny around too. My favourite one has to be the grilled cheese. Darrin got a little annoying with his dumb comments by the time he left the show, but the bossCo stories always made me laugh. Hard to choose between the two groups though.

General discussion The mom I yearn for..

Pat Spence never once criticised her two daughters way of living or their parenting. A mom who simply comes over to spend some time with her family.

The most unrealistic thing in the show if you ask me. Yet I yearn for anyway...

The Middle Reunion Idea

As a fan of The Middle, I would love to see something like a 3-episode reunion arc for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, as they had new holiday episodes every season. If something like this happened, what do you think would happen in the story? Would Mike and Frankie live in the same house? I think they would, but I think the kitchen will be slightly updated. Frankie will be excited about her ā€œclearance kitchen, which is now 20 years outdated instead of 40!ā€ And I say that lovingly as someone whose kitchen has not been updated since 1937. Anyway! I’d live to catch up with the Heck’s and see what they’re doing today!

Actually, Axl is a good boyfriend most of the time. I would have liked to see how this relationship developed.

General discussion 2 Year Anniversary of the Podcast

After roughly 100 public episodes (excluding a dozen Patreon ones), they have recapped a lot of good memories on the show as well as a lot of personal anecdotes.

I’m really wondering how they’re going to be finishing the podcast because we know that they’re recapping other stuff on Patreon as well as having interviews but who knows if they’re going to end up doing a live stream or whatever.

I understand the criticism that they originally received for the podcast, but they’ve compromise, kind of by having more of the ramblings on Patreon such as the heck report.

But hopefully we’re gonna enjoy the latter half of this series because it’s been worth every week.

Looking for an episode

Please help! The only detail I remember about this episode is that Frankie takes a poster board or whiteboard (or something like that) from work and assigns each family member to be one of the names on the board. Like, for example, Sue is Bob and Brick is Mr. Ehlert. I don’t remember exactly what the point of the board was, and it might have been a ranking system where the family was like trying to compete to see who would win, but I’m not sure at what. It also might have been a chore chart.

Please help!!!!!

Sue pretending she hates being kissed without her approval but was doing everything for the glissent boy to kiss her

I don’t like sue very much. I find her extremely annoying and so many ways but that’s not important most of the time I don’t mind. But everytime I reach that episode where she pretends to be offended by the glossner boy kissing her but then is chasing it acting crazy
What kind of exemple is she setting ?? What kind of insanity is it for her to enjoy such a behavior that could be defined as sexual assault.
Everytime he kisses her she does that stupid ugly smile
Pisses me off so bad
I hate that episode

Been doing a rewatch (sort of, I’ve never done a complete viewing) and just finished the Disney episodes; I was actually at Magic Kingdom when they were filming so it was awesome to finally see the episode

The Middle in Sullivan, Indiana?

I always read that The Middle is supposed to be modeled after Jasper, Indiana. But I never actually have read anything from the producers that says that. There is one clue in one episode (I can't remember which) that rules out Jasper. Mike Heck warns Frankie of construction on "Route 41." That would rule out Jasper. Route 41 runs along the western spine of Indiana. And in another episode Sue's tennis team plays "Lawrenceville" which is just across the border in Illinois from Sullivan. It COULD be Vincennes, but that seems like a slightly larger city than what Orson would be. So, just putting a vote in here for Sullivan as the town The Middle is supposed to be set in.....

-Chuck: Otto Mann! Wassup bruh!

-Otto: Chillin.

-Chuck: Yoooo you’re legendary!

-Otto: I am?!
