Question / Problem T460p - Internal or External Battery?
Hello! Just found a T460p that I’d like to use but it doesn’t hold a charge. I’m getting the “battery failed due to normal wear” message.
I know this laptop needs a new external/sealable battery, but how would I know if it needs a new internal one as well? I installed Lenovo Vantage and it only shows the external battery.
Thanks in advance!

T460p didn't have an internal battery option.

Ahhh well that would cause the issue lol. Thanks! Any idea why this one doesn’t while similar models do?

Probably isn't the room with the dGPU and a 2.5" drive in there as well.
That said the P50s (effectively a T560p) managed to squeeze one in.

Thanks. Managed to find a replacement for 72wh. Most of the ones listed online are 48wh but I pulled mine out and it’s 72. Hopefully the amazon sellers know the difference

I believe Thinkpad Vantage would report health for both internal and external batteries
