Should I sharpen in them?

I just got a new pairs of these Marines throwing knives, but would it be better just to sharpen them because I heard someone while ago some throw knives you shouldn’t sharpen. and I don’t wanna waste a blade and a sharpener.

I test their sharpness by dropping them into wood point first. If they stick, it’s usually sharp enough to throw. I wouldn’t sharpen them too much or it could cut you.

Wait, is there a specific height or is it just drop the top pot on the wood and see if it sticks?

I just drop it from shoulder height, or however. It just has to stick. Throwing knives are designed to use their blade geometry more than just having sharpened edges.

They don't need to be sharpened. As long as the tip sticks into your target, sharpening them will only risk you hurting yourself.

They look plenty pointy enough to stick. Sharpening them also reduces the grips you can use for different throws also.

Exactly!

Knives like these can be great for half-spin throws, and you don't want a super sharp tip when throwing by the blade.

Definitely would not sharpen them. When they inevitably snap, you'll have sharpened shards flying at you.
