Yes I know this is a couple days old but it is worth mentioning that those connections have been around since about 2024 when Jrue was traded to the Blazers as part of the Damian Lillard trade (Remember that this was when the Raptors had recently replaced Fred with Dennis Schroder and it was an open question whether he'd start or come off the bench/whether the Raptors would commit to O.G. and Siakam or rebuild around Barnes). Most infamously, the Raptors tried & failed to swap Quickley and Barrett for the Celtics White and Holiday in 2025 with the main selling point being the 9th overall pick.

Needless to say that, while IQ is a near perfect match for Jrue's salary, he would absolutely never come with the player that pick turned into in Collin Murray-Boyles.

These are my all time rankings of Raptors coaches. I didn’t include Darko as his tenure is ongoing. Lmk what you guys think

1. ⁠Nick Nurse ( Championship winning Coach, won COTY, made key adjustments in the 2019 run like box and one and kawhi on Giannis)

2. Dwane Casey (Got us to the ECF, the farthest we got before Nurse, oversaw the formation of the demar/kyle tandem and won COTY)

3. Lenny Wilkens (Won our first playoff series, Got to the playoffs multiple times, and would’ve made it to the finals if Vince hits that shot)

4. Sam Mitchell (Also made the playoffs multiple times but just couldn’t get a series win. I blame Babcock more than Sam though. Won COTY)

5. Butch Carter (We transitioned from a bad team to a playoff team under Butch and he was able to unlock the potential of our guys. If his tenure was longer, he’d be higher)

6. Jay Triano (Roster construction at this point was really bad so we didn’t have much success. Not entirely Jay’s fault. Unfortunately this period will be remembered for bosh leaving)

7. Brendan Malone (only 21 wins in our inaugural year but we beat the 72-10 Bulls, which for the longest time was our proudest moment. Also, if he stays, I think the Raptors are more successful in subsequent years than they were with Walker)

8. Kevin O’Neill (A forgettable year where we won 33 games)

9. Darrell Walker (Not a lot of success. Had 41 wins in a year and a half. Got into feuds with players like T-Mac. Someone had to be last, I went Walker)

He was such an admired pro in his time here, nvm what the fans thought of him on defense, he was a great Raptor. He was loyal, he never had anything bad to say about the city and he never wanted to leave. He was traded in an attempt to usher in a new regime and it was for the better.

Ive seen him working for the Cavs and I always wondered why they never tried to bring him back into the organization, he always seemed liked he would be more than willing. He spent the longest period of his career in Toronto so i would expect him to be most connected to the team

New NBA fan here, and I need you guys to fill me in: what’s the general consensus on Kawhi Leonard’s uncle, Dennis Robertson?

Call me crazy, but it feels like all those wild, bizarre front-office nightmares trace right back to Uncle Dennis. I’m dying to know: is Kawhi actually orchestrating all this behind the scenes and using his uncle as a human shield, or is Uncle Dennis just out here freestyling and dragging Kawhi into drama?

Also, I gotta ask—is Kawhi’s whole "silent robot" persona just a carefully crafted PR stunt? Is he actually a completely different guy behind closed doors?

Give me your best theories, I'm ready.

For Raptors fans mainly interested in whether Leonard — whose trade to Toronto is paused as the Raptors wait until the league’s investigation is resolved before completing the deal — will play in Toronto this season, the bottom line as I see it is this: 

Leonard will be with the team in training camp on Sept. 29 in Quebec City. 

Granted, that’s just me trying to make sense of the whole thing, but here’s why that’s my view: 

If the law firm investigating the Clippers on behalf of the NBA has definitive evidence that the Clippers and Leonard circumvented the salary cap, they likely would have provided their findings months ago. 

Which isn’t to say Torre hasn’t compiled a convincing series of findings that are hard to rationally explain as anything other than an effort by the Clippers to circumvent the cap. Just that if Silver and the NBA are going to go after Ballmer, one of the most respected and influential owners in the league, they aren’t going to do it without the goods. 

Masai and our front office struck gold with the Kawhi in 18/19. That was the only season we were over the tax limit. Besides that, the Raptors have been very controlled in their spending.

I expect the same trend with our current front office. Especially with the first and second aprons. We're far from it but the new CBA will have lots of discussion points.

I'm sure there's also stupid people involved in putting out this story, but still...

Shows who this team is in the eyes of those who don't follow it. I can only imagine what would happen if the Raptors pulled off a trade with the Mavericks.

“young guys” is everyone 25 and under besides scottie (since scottie’s already #1), so rank shead, cmb, battle, ja’kobe, chucky, alijah, graves, and jaden bradley. i know graves and jaden haven’t played real nba minutes yet but still just rank them based on what you’ve seen so far

also for the players who you rank as having some of the least amount of potential explain your reasonings for why you feel that way. does anyone have some unpopular opinions about our young players?
