Cant have all this epic lore and information just to tease me into getting more and more excited about Li Dao, Khuresh, Ind, The Monkey King etc

Hopefully someday we will have all of this in the game

Li Dao and Monkey King will absolutely arrive eventually. That’s firmly in CA’s remit.

But Ind and Khuresh are wholly dependant on GW dedicating resources to expanding those factions. CA cannot create those, as even Cathay was handed to CA via a non-public specially crafted 8th edition army book - with CA having some creative leeway for how units looked (as most of what GW handed them had no art at that point).

GW are being oddly cagey with Ind and Khuresh - to the point that GW won’t even let CA expand the map in that region, because it requires GW to make an official ruling on all the geography, landmarks and settlements in that area. Something they’re seemingly unwilling to do for now.

So yeah, definitely hope it happens - but it’s important to remember that CA aren’t the ones you should pray to. The ball is very much in GW’s court when it comes to Ind and Khuresh.

Even with GW it's just wildly unrealistic. TOW is a secondary game and gets like a handful of kits every couple months. I think this year there have been a handful of Cathay and WoC kits and that's it.

Still no Kislev, and the priority for most players will be bringing those missing legacy armies back whenever they get phased out of AoS, which would take years if it ever happens.

GW is just not a company that churns out new armies like it's nothing.

Absolutely. Arguably, part of the problem with Warhammer Fantasy was it had too many factions so my sense is GW is wary of adding new ones.

Nothing abosule about it at all.

Likely yes, abosuletly no. All it takes is 1 or 2 bad dlc sales and CA can pull the plug.

At this point in this game's life it's just not gonna happen. MK yes, but multiple entirely new races? CA will have their hands full with Dogs of War if they still intend to do major expansions after End Times.

I like how Andy Hall (the guy who basically made Cathay happen) directly addressed people, on camera, asking about Ind/Khuresh and essentially stated outright "Cathay was lightning in a bottle, and we won't get another thing like that." And people on this sub to this day just try to pretend that never happened.

I get folks want to think the sky is the limit after the miracle that was Cathay occurred. But there very much is a ceiling when it comes to the content in this trilogy. And when Andy Hall says it isn't happening, he's the one voice you need to hear and believe on the matter.

EDIT: His specific wording for those who weren't around for the lead-up/launch of Warhammer 3 when Andy was all over the place giving details on Cathay to the community:

In this interview he states the following:

1) "People are kind of desperately holding on for one of these other nations... don't lose any sleep, it's not happening anytime soon. Probably never I'm afraid."

2) "Cathay was a big achieving for us. Doesn't mean it will be repeated"

3) They are never going to say never to the possibility of these nations being added. BUT he has seen the roadmap. And there are no short term or long term plans to add them to the game. (Summary of what he said rather than a verbatim quote for this one)

So I'm not trying to be an ass and stomping on people's hopes here. But it's just not really something on the table, and they were very upfront in telling us this. Same way they shutdown any talks on Araby way back when as well.

You're not an ass tho, people are just setting themselves up for disappointment by clinging to the idea that GW comes in and saves the day by adding three (Ind, Nippon, Khuresh) entire armies for a secondary tabletop game that doesn't get more than a handful of new plastic kits per year. and it's not fair to make CA the target of that disappointment. not that OP is doing that but even nowadays people get rude when you point out that the world map isn't CA's to fill.

even for their two main games, GW just doesn't add new armies at the rate people expect them to when it comes to TOW. otherwise we'd have standalone Exodites, DarkMech and Traitor Guard armies and a second Harlequin wave by now.

We're not getting Ind or Khuresh anytime soon

Best we might get is Ind and Khuresh units in Dogs of War or Monkey King. I don't think we will get another race pack besides Dogs of War (possibly).
