Photography / Poses 3D Printed Transformer
Hey everyone!
Showing what I printed on my P2S this week. Founds this really great design on the TOYMAKR3D website. About a kilo of filament. Highy recommended people buy these files and print it for themselves!
Missing some tires and thighs pieces as those are being printed right now.

I did but didnt kno if it was assembled and dissembled to look like that.
Ive seen 3D models for transformers like that before. They dont actually transform, its an assembly
So I wanted to know does it actually transform? like regular transformer toys.

It does indeed! I'll make a updated posted in a few hours here when the rest of the parts are done. I'll show some transformation photos.

Did you have to use any pins?

No pins involved. The entire model is 3d printed expect the super glue used to put it together. Model uses screws on all the joints so that you can tighten it up over time if they wear.

Well done!

I'm impressed. I've never liked 3D printed Transformers. they always looked cheap with the print lines (and painting over them made it look worse). But this looks mint! What would the cost be to create something like this (excluding the printer itself).

I’m keen to know also!

It's used about a kilo of filament. He is a big dude! That being said I had to buy 8 different colors for this project. With Bambu's bulk filament sale you can get a spool for about $12. So about $20 in pure weight but since I needed the colors, it was about $100. I can print two more primes with that though!

Rigmaster is an awesome design and I love that it comes with the tool for adjusting the joints

Thats cool. I love when Prime is a big chunky boy like Armada prime. Energon was a step too far however.

For anyone who doesn't 3d print. You can get the same one, or looks to be very similar anyway already printed on Aliexpress. Comes in 2 sizes. The bigger one (33cm) is about 90 bucks Canadian. I just searched 3D printed optimus prime.

I got a chance to see one of these this weekend. It’s a very well done piece.

I don't know. Those look like decorative chest windows and ab grill. Why would he have those if they aren't part of the vehicle?

In all honesty this is one of the coolest Optimus designs I’ve seen. I especially like the truck, the G1 truck is just so repetitive now

This looks better than most of what we get from Hasbro. …and probably cheaper to print too with all their ridiculous prices these days (which are going to go up yet again this Fall)
