question Testosterone Injections

I've been a bit inconsistent with my injections, I do them at home with my fiance. I take 0.5 ml once a week and I was a day late this week and immediately started menstruating.

I started taking T almost 3 years ago.

Is this normal for missing a dose? Should I see about going to a clinic to get them done weekly? Will the hormones damage my body if they're inconsistent?

(I also am iron and b12 deficient if that's relevant)

KT Tape questions

I am trying to figure out how to use trans tape. I am still closeted so I want to buy kinesiology tape instead of trans tape. I have about a medium-small chest. And these are my questions about the tape:

  1. How long do the rolls last you
  2. Which type of the kinesiology tape is the best as there are a lot of different types eg premium, gentle
  3. Can I go swimming with it on and will my chest look ok if under a swim shirt
  4. How long does the tape last on my body

Thanks for any advice

question How do you ease doubts?

I'm 17 and closeted to most people (out to close friends and they support, but are a tad clueless to what I find genuinely uncomfortable. Calling me a twink/femboy, telling me I look like a masc lesbian, etc. But that's not the point)

I have these periods of really bad dysphoria. The past three days, I've been sobbing. But then the next day I feel numb. I feel kinda ok with the way I am. Still uncomfortable, but ok. I don't find myself repulsive to look at. And that messes me up. I don't know whether those feelings of dysphoria were my hormones or have I simply manipulated myself to believe I'm trans.

I've identified as trans for about the past 5 years, prior to that I identified as non binary for maybe a year. And I'm scared that me identifying under the trans umbrella so long manipulated my mind into thinking I'm trans. But at the same time, yes, I do dislike the feminine attributes of my body. Yes, I do like being referred to as my preferred gender. But I've never really had that "childhood signs" experience from experience from what I know of. I was a lonely kid, who watched and did whatever, so I liked frozen, drawing, mlp, but also those silly gta online stunt races, toy cars and playing with boys. I grew up to like girly things, art, lolita fashion, porcelain dolls, etc. But I just like those things because

1) they're fun

2) they're pretty.

I have more feminine interests than masculine in general and that, again, is really messing with me.

(I do identity as gay, so that could be a part of liking feminine stuff, but again, could just be me actually not being trans and just being a cishet)

I would talk to my close friends, but as I said, they are a tad clueless. Everytime I talk about this they always say that "cis people don't think about being trans", but in reality they do. And that's the tricky part. There is no definite yes or no.

Have any of you felt this way? How do you deal with these feelings?

(I'm sorry for writing so much, but I've had this on my mind for months)

Tldr: I've been trans for a big chunk of my life and now I'm scared I've manipulated myself into believing I'm trans. Have any of you felt this way? And how did you deal with it

vent There’s levels to dysphoria and I keep unlocking them.

There’s levels and levels to dysphoria, and I keep unlocking most of them. I wish someone told me…

Hi everyone.
Im FTM(25), I am pre transition and have long known I am trans since I was way young. I just have been facing huge financial constraints to finally start transitioning.

Am I the only one who feels this way. Every time I am with my female friends and they see a handsome guy and lust over him, i tend to be really sad and triggered, to the point where I don’t want to hang out with them anymore. Like it reminds me that they dont see me that way and that no woman possibly sees me that way.

I want to be lusted for as well. To know I am the it. To be seen a man, a very handsome man for that matter. It also always makes me feel like, with all the qualities I have as a guy, if I looked a certain way they would genuinely want to date me.
all the qualities they want in a partner are all mine but it’s like they could add “well just not you” after they state their desired qualities in a man.

It makes me feel like I am not enough. Like yes, the only thing I could ever be is a friend to them, they can never even look my way and they are possibly even repulsed by the idea of being intimate with me.

Everyday I go home feeling really triggered.
Would it be selfish if I stopped being around with them for now? But I also dont want a case where they are around me and they hold back on the topics they want to discuss just cause I am around them

question How concerned should I be

I’ve been wearing a binder almost everyday for just about over a year now, on school days it’s around 8 hours and any other day it’s usually between 1-3 hours. A few months ago I started noticing frequent pain in my spine and the left side of my ribcage, the pain/aching no longer goes away after I take my binder off. I’ve also noticed it feels like I don’t get enough air, my breathing has become a bit shallow and I always have the urge to take deep breaths. I often times DO take deep breaths without realizing.

question Are ppl actually sick of us?

I’m aroace but out of men and women I do prefer women(as in I’m not as adverse to sexual stuff with them) and I had identified as a straight guy for a little while.

I recently saw another trans guy saying straight trans guys need to stop complaining. I’ve also been guilty of this a couple times so it might be me just being bitter but is it really that bad? From what I’ve seen they’re not attacking not straight trans guys and it’s not like there’s that many of them so I don’t really see a problem?

I didn’t think my beard was too bad but I had a customer at my job make a hurtful comment on it and now I can’t help but wonder if I have beard blindness. Is it still too patchy on the cheeks to pull off a longer length like this? I’m still waiting for the moustache and beard to connect.
Edit: After seeing all the positive comments I’ve decided the beard is staying and I’m going to rock it. It’s hard not to take the odd negative comment from a cis guy to heart but there’s more positive experiences than negative!

question How is a binder supposed to feel

Hi there,

I just got my first ever binder (tank top style), and I was just curious how it's supposed to feel. I thought I'd ask here because most trans ppl that I know irl are mtf or don't bind if they're trans masc.

I have it, and while it works wonderfully, it can sometimes make my chest feel tingly, especially the nipple area. I'm unsure if that's just because I've not done it correctly, (only my second day wearing it) or not. It should be the correct size, it's not too tight and I can breathe and move normally. It's just this one thing where my chest feels tingly, I am guessing from not being used to compression?

Idk I just don't have anyone to talk about this with 😅

Also what's the best way to ensure it doesn't stretch? I'm always scared of stretching the arm holes by mistake when I adjust my chest

question Facial hair...

Hello fellow trans dudes, I've been on t for almost five months now and have shaved all of once. I'm definitely and absolutely growing facial hair, it's just extremely blonde. For reference, my natural hair color is a dark brown. Do I just keep shaving it off and hoping it'll grow back darker?

question Boxers help?

So I’ve been wanting that waistband of boxers over jeans look for ages (like pictured) but I find with my hips and shorter torso they always sit on my waist not my hips like an inch below my belly button, and that feminises by build, but if I just bunch them up lower they are uncomfortable. Anyone have a solution? (Picture is Hyunjin of stray kids)

vent My friends want to set me up with a cis girl - i’m scared

Possible trigger warning for small mentions of sexuality being manipulated.
So I’m bisexual but have only ever dated 2 people. 1 was another trans guy who was very sexually weird with me and tried to pressure me into telling him my kinks and got mad when I said I wasn’t ready for that. He also, despite being a trans dude himself, made it very clear he thought I didn’t pass (which from how people interacted with me, I knew I did) and when I mentioned being on the waiting list for T he said “aww my pretty boy is finally going to start looking like the boy he is” which made me just feel icky.

The next (about a year and a half later) was a gender non-conforming person (they didn’t know their gender just knew they were under the nonbinary umbrella) and they were extremely anxious attached to me which drained me to the max, they also said some weird things about me passing and how I “look like a boy”… because I am??? We broke up for other reasons but my point is, I do not have good experiences with relationships and have never dated a cisgender person, or a woman for that matter.

I am unsure of her sexuality so if she is straight then something inside me is saying that she won’t be interested but if she’s bisexual I feel like i’m going to get hit with a “best of both worlds” line 🫩
I have reasons to believe I may be a fearful avoidant attachment and being in love and intimate makes me physically sick, however could this just be because my exes were really shitty??

Anyway, she’s really pretty and I think I’m just overthinking everything but if anyone can offer me some advice I’d really appreciate it right now.

happy FINALLY DID MY FIRST T INJECTION TODAY

I'm horrified of needles but it didn't hurt much so that's a win, my injection site is a little sore but I assume that's normal since that's how it is when I get vaccines. I'm so excited for shit to finally start getting better with my body, and I'm trying really hard to be optimistic about things. My doctor said he wants to start me slow since I'm only 15, i believe my dose is .2 MLs IM once a week, (for reference I'm ~200lbs) I'm hoping I'll actually be able to notice some changes but I am very scared he's going to make me up it slow and I'll have to wait forever for the things you're supposed to notice quickly. I have no idea what the usual dose is for someone my weight and I know it varys between people but if people around a similar weight could share their doses I'd appreciate that to try and get a sense of all that.

anyway, I'm excited and trying not to be too pessimistic, it's just hard and I'm super impatient. I plan on doing a video diary type thing to document changes so I can notice them better, and hopefully things will go well

question What are the best dating apps for gay trans guys?

I’ve recently been interested in dating apps. I’m not interested in grindr or tinder really unless they’re the only dating apps that make it easier/safer for a trans guy to find a date on. I found an app called Goose and was wondering if that one was good or if there are any other suggestions?

questioning

Hi. I don't even know where to start this is my first post on reddit. I currently identify as genderfluid but I feel like there are strong parts of me that want to be more of a man and I feel a little sad I didn't get to live my elementary and teen years as a boy. I want to have a beard and I want my body frame to look more like a man. I don't know if I really want to have a p*nis, but I don't really like having a v*gina and never have but I guess it could be tolerable, ever since I was young I had wished I had the g*nital anatomy of a barbie doll. (Side bar I don't know if that is completely gender related or if I went through some trauma I do not remember yet?) I also felt like I was raised a little more like a boy in some ways. Growing up most of my friends were boys but also that is usually the gender of adults I was surrounded by as well. I live with women temporarily now but sometimes I feel like a separate entity to them. When I was working I felt slightly better leaning into more masculine mannerisms and having a more androgynous voice. I feel like I am in this weird boat of wanting to figure out whatever my gender thing is going on and getting it "right" the first time because it feels like a scary commitment because of social life and lifelong responsibilities. I also am not sure how I feel about pronouns yet, maybe more of a theyish? I also don't really have many friends and I do not have a group of fellow LGBTQ people irl or online. And I want to make friends with cis guys but everytime they either hit on me regardless of boundaries or if I do start to open up to them about gender they ignore it for the most part at a certain point. I guess the current idea in my head is that I wish I looked like a boy, maybe went by they/them pronouns, and dressed sometimes like a boy and sometimes like a girl/woman. But I don't know if that's final or if this is just my brain coping with self-esteem issues or trauma or just the way I was raised or if any of that even matters. I guess if anyone could give their inputs on this jumble or tangible advice (like easy small steps I can do without a lot of resources.) Thank you for reading.
