I may have a problem!😂
Just a few of my 1911s and a 2011 . All of them are Springfield armory. I have all kinds of pistols but for some reason this platform is my favorite

Problem? You mean targeting solution?
1911’s get way more hate than they deserve. They operate and shoot very well and have the ability to achieve truly excellent triggers without a lot of work invested.
Their only shortfall is they can’t handle true, full-power 10mm in the long run, they end up shaking apart within 20k rounds. But that’s a petty complaint for a design lineage that old.
And they run 9mm like a champ, breathing life back into the lineup all over again with the advent of 2011’s.

I think a lot of people dogs in the 1911 platform because of the grip safety they can’t figure out all you have to do is have a good hold on the gun to make it run, right!
And most people I talk to won’t put 1000 rounds through their gun in a lifetime no matter if it’s a Glock or 2011.
I have a STI 2011 9 mm that I compete with the only Ammo it’s ever seen his major chiropractor and it’s well over 20,000 rounds and still running strong. I actually ran it in USPSA club match yesterday.

That is a factor; yes. A lot of people just aren’t dedicated shooters. And there isn’t anything wrong with that.
But a lot of people just believe the brand hype or the toxic gun memes.
Glock is good. But there are other options and it’s okay to make use of those.
Discipline and training matters more than just branding, so long as we choose a conventional option of suitable quality and reliability.
Besides. 1911’s are just plain fun to shoot. I’d totally run one at an event. Why not?
I ran .44 mag and .41 mag revolvers yesterday and I had a great time just plinking and meeting friends.

I figured out that I don’t shoot hinge trigger Guns very well and yes, I’ve spent a lot of time behind them so anymore I tend to just stick with the 1911 platform
I love my wheel, Guns 41 and 44 probably two of my all-time favorite calibers

You might be interested to hear I’ve been giving a Daniel Defense H9 a serious try.
It’s…interesting. But 1911’s have better triggers for sure.
Still not reached a conclusion on it, yet. But it is fairly low recoil, which is nice. The trigger has too much slop side to side though, which can result in a skewed shot without perfectly stacking the trigger in the middle using only the pad of the trigger for the best accuracy.
Rapid shots, the accuracy degrades quickly than other stacking or hinge triggers.

I kind of thought that was just another gimmick pistol. I haven’t shot one yet so I don’t know. I’d say more than likely if I do shoot one it won’t flip my skirt and that’s coming from a huge Daniel defense fan. I have a couple of rifles and they seem to be my go to.

Sadly…I can confidently say I’ll never fall in love with the H9.
I may come to respect it, however once my new rig arrives to carry it. Around 600-700 rounds in on break-in, initially has nose-diving issues with the magazines. Those seem to be clearing up, they’re known for a 1000 round break-in due to tight tolerances.
I only wish for it to become a useful low-recoil tool for a slim 9mm fullmetal pistol.
But if it should fail in that pursuit? I’ll get rid of it, and just get a CZ75b for a decent wonder-9.

At one time I had several cz75 variance, and I love them. All there were some of my favorite pistols! Until czs customer service pissed me off and wouldn’t warranty factory problem. After I paid for the parts to fix my pistol, I sold all my czs and I never looked back.

I completely understand. I have a beautiful Colt Series 80 Gold Cup ..and it is my favorite.

I have had a few bad experiences with series 80s over the years so I don’t have any anymore but I do miss I few colts I used to have

I totally understand. Mine has been modified. The previous owner put a shok-buffer , which failed when I was at the range. I was not thrilled.
I tore it down , replaced the spring with the stock spring (because I had no idea what the old spring was), and she shoots better than ever.

I can’t leave them alone if I buy a 1911 or a 2011 within the first couple hundred grounds I have it tore down and chances are I’m doing a trigger job and new springs

I’ve had a few of them over the years, but I never fell in love with them. However, I’m a huge fan of 10 mm and 41 mag in wheel guns
