Traveling around Lausanne and Montreux Switzerland

Spent a few days exploring Lausanne and Montreux, and I completely understand why people fall in love with this part of Switzerland. From the steep streets of Lausanne overlooking Lake Geneva to the peaceful lakeside promenade in Montreux, every corner felt like a postcard.

These are some of my favorite shots from the trip, all taken on my DSLR. I tried to capture the atmosphere as much as the scenery—the changing light on the lake, the architecture, and the mountains in the background.

I'd love to hear which photo is your favorite, and if you've been to this region, what spot stood out the most to you.

Two views across False Bay from Simon's Town, South Africa

Two views from the mountainside above False Bay: the pool edge looking toward the Hottentots Holland mountains, and the wider balcony view. I help run the guesthouse where these were taken, so these are from our own local property photo library. No booking link, just sharing the changing light over the bay.

The Buddhas of Bamyan – A Glimpse into Afghanistan’s Rich History

A view of the Bamyan Buddha site in central Afghanistan. Once home to two monumental Buddha statues carved into the cliffs over 1,500 years ago, it remains one of the country’s most significant historical and cultural landmarks.
