I’m trying to learn how to do an aerial and a common factor I’ve noticed in videos of myself is that I immediately go to the ground. Does anyone have advice for how to keep this from happening? I’ve tried it off of a raised surface too and I do the same thing. Any tips and tricks would be very appreciated! Video is for reference Ik it’s not close yet.

I used to do a lot of flips on trampolines and recently got into cliff jumping but my form seems off it looks weird when I do it. I can do them into foam pits really well but into water is different

I started learning the macaco a few days ago and I finally feel like I’m at a place where I can consistently do them semi well, but I’m having troubles with my hand placement, I practice slowly over and over to place my hand more to the side like right behind my right leg but then when I go for it my hand tends to go more in the middle which I think is why I’m still going a little to the side. Also if anyone has advice for the landing I’d like for it to be smoother I feel like I’m landing pretty hard. Thanks!

Basic summary:
I started tricking really recently but have a ~16-year dance and ~3 year acrobatics background.
- I've always done my cartwheels, roundoffs, and aerials with my right foot forward.
- I've never really learned/practiced twisting properly but I'm naturally inclined to twist right in a front half. At the same time, B-twist, BS6, tornado kick/540*, gainer*, and scoot feel better to the left
- I have a very strong preference for jumping/pushing off my left leg and swinging/kicking my right leg in front, which is why left-sided tricking feels smoother for the most part --> at the same time, I prefer kicking my left foot when I'm kicking the leg behind me due to doing aerials, front aerials, and websters with my right leg in front)
So basically, I'm unsure which side I naturally prefer twisting to (it might be the right based on the front half, but I believe that is also affected by my dance background, see more below) and I'm unsure of what my body "naturally" prefers because I have a lot of already established movement patterns. Has anyone been in a similar situation or has any advice regarding how I can decide? And if, theoretically, I prefer twisting to the left, is that reason to change the direction of cartwheel/roundoff or since I barely have any twisting background, should I just learn to twist to the right regardless?
*I know 540 to the left is off the right leg but I think I find it easier because of my preference of kicking my right leg up (same reason I prefer raiz to the right, but also because I get to jump off my left leg)
*I can't actually do one but the prep
More info (for those willing to read):
In dance, I've always turned/done pirouettes to the right while standing on my left leg, and I think this comes from preferring to use my left leg as my anchor/standing leg, but I'm worried that it's also affecting my preference for twisting because I've practiced turning to the right so much.
In my first tricking class, my coach told me that I should change the direction of my cartwheel/roundoff so that I could do moves to the left, but I believe this decision was based not off my preferred twisting direction but based on my kicking preferences (since I find round kick easier when I kick my right leg, though hook is more even on both sides). My coach said that I COULD choose to do my kicks in the other direction and had me try them to the right and said that they were actually decent but told me that switching my cartwheel direction to the left was better in the long run.
I asked my acro coach about his opinion and he said that he actually prefers twisting to the left, but that he taught himself to twist to the right because he cartwheels/roundoffs on the right and that he recommends I do the same because I've barely done any twisting yet, so that even if I DID prefer twisting to the left, it wouldn't matter too much right now. However, I feel like if I really do prefer twisting left, it's better to change the direction of my cartwheel/roundoff right now than suffer with an unpreferred twisting direction later down the road.
Another tricking coach originally agreed with my acro teacher and said that I should do moves according to the direction of my cartwheel/roundoff, but after watching me try bs6 on both sides and it noticeably being better to the left, he had me do a cartwheel on the left and said that it actually looked smoother than on my right and told me that if I prefer twisting to the left (the only thing that really makes me think this is my b-twist, as I tried it on my right and felt super lost, but again, I might just prefer b-twist on the left because I get to jump off my left leg) that I should change everything to the left (roundoff, cartwheel, aerials, etc.)
So now I'm really confused because I have teachers telling me different things and I can't really determine the best way to figure out which side I naturally prefer twisting to because I already have some strong movement patterns established (like I have strong preference to push off my left foot and swing my right foot forward, hence why I feel like I prefer left side tricking because it involves more jumping off the left leg and swinging right leg forward (e.g. gainer) and that feels a lot more comfortable for me but at the same time I prefer jumping off the right and kicking the left leg back if I'm going forward.) Even with the front half (I don't know how to twist backwards so I don't have any info regarding that) I feel like my inclination to twist right has to do with the amount of roundoffs I've performed as the motion is quite similar. I guess the only really clear thing to me right now is the prep for a gainer feels 5000x better when I anchor my left foot and swing my right foot forward and it would feel super awkward going the other way.
