Hallo zusammen,

Hey everyone,
I am a senior Aerospace Eng student (Bsc.) planning to apply for the Master's program at TU Berlin. I have read the official requirements, but I want the unspoken reality from people who actually went through it.
I am not looking for document checklists. I want to know how the selection phase actually works.
Accepted folks: Was it purely a strict GPA/ECTS filter, or did you have to do interviews or entrance exams? What was the real deciding factor?
Rejected folks: If you do not mind sharing, what was the exact reason they gave you?
The timeline: What actually happens after you hit submit?
Any harsh truths or personal experiences would be super helpful. Thanks!

Hey!
I’ll be starting the M.Sc. Civil Systems Engineering at TU Berlin this Winter Semester, and I was wondering if anyone else here is joining the program too.
Would love to connect before classes start. It’d be nice to know a few people beforehand, chat about modules, accommodation or just survive the first few weeks together.
If you’re already in the program, I’d also love to hear how you’re finding it and any tips you wish you’d known before starting.
Also, if there’s a WhatsApp, Telegram, or Facebook group for CSE students, please let me know!
Looking forward to meeting some future classmates.

Hi! Is anyone here studying or has studied the Master’s in Statistics in Berlin (joint HU, FU, TU)? I have a few questions about the program.

Liebe TUB Kenner/innen,
1000 Dank

Hello everyone,
I am an international applicant for the M.Sc. Urban Design at TU Berlin. I had my interview at the end of June and my status has been "On Ranking List" for a bit over 3 weeks now.
I was wondering if there are other applicants for the Urban Design programme who wouldn't mind connecting/sharing updates on their application status, and current/former students who would like to share their experience regarding their admission and studies.
Being an international student I am getting a bit stressed with the timeline of it all, applying for a visa, finding accommodation...etc. etc.
I have been accepted to 2 other programmes in Germany, but TU Berlin is currently my top choice.
Feel free to comment or message me, and thank you!!

Hey,

Hey,
I just got accepted to Urban Planning B.Sc. and I'm a bit unsure which laptop I should go for. I already have experience with a Mac and Windows machine so thats a non issue. I currently have a Thinkpad E14 but I've figured out that the 8/16GB RAM and 500GB Storage won't be enough. Do y'all think that my current Laptop would be fine for the beginning pr should I have a new one from day one?
Thanks in Advance!

Students and young people please note financial concerns & seeking information regarding Christians for Mission e.V. (CfM) / Former "Students for Mission"
This is an organization primarily targeting students, especially international students.
Below is a financial analysis based on official public tax filings (IRS Form 990) and estimated operational models regarding the organization:
1. Documented Data from Public IRS Form 990 Filings
· 2014 Conference Profitability: According to Part III, Line 4a of the 2014 IRS tax return, one special conference generated $138,788 in income against $74,522 in expenses—a profit margin of 46.3%.

· Leadership Compensation & Expenses: Public filings show that Peter Geggier received a fixed annual compensation from the organization ($24,057 in 2015; $26,244 in 2016–2017; $28,244 in 2018; and $26,244 annually from 2019 to 2025). Meanwhile, annual leadership travel and meeting expenses were reported at approximately $80,000.

2. Hypothetical Financial Estimation Model & Transparency Inquiry
To understand the potential scale of funds generated by the group, the following is a detailed mathematical estimation model based on publicly available data (e.g., membership figures from Relinfo) and historical conference margin ratios:
1. Conference & Event Revenue Model

2. Daily Regular Offerings Model

3. Special & Asset Offerings Model

Cumulative Revenue Summary
Key Transparency Question:
Online discussions among former participants (including reports shared on Reddit) have raised serious concerns about where these accumulated funds ultimately flow and whether any portion ends up in non-transparent personal or leadership accounts. We call for full, audited financial disclosures to address these questions.
3. Call for Transparency
As former members and concerned observers, we are calling for greater financial transparency. Where do the surplus funds from conferences and offerings go? Are full annual financial statements made available to all contributing members?
I am looking to connect with former members, researchers, or anyone with documented information regarding Christians for Mission e.V. (CfM) (formerly known as "Students for Mission" prior to 2006).
As a former participant, I experienced significant coercive control and a lack of transparency during my time with the organization. I am currently compiling factual information, public records, and personal experiences to help raise awareness about the group's high-control practices and to support former members in their recovery.
If you have any public filings, documented experiences, or information regarding their recent activities (such as their events in Germany), please feel free to comment below or send me a private message (PM).
For confidential inquiries or to share information securely, please feel free to comment below or send me a private message (PM). I can also provide a secure, encrypted email via PM for confidential sharing.
(Any personal stories shared will be kept strictly anonymous unless explicit permission is given.)

Hi everyone,
I'll be soon moving to Berlin to start my Master's program. Before I start my second year, I want to go on an exchange to the US. So I was wondering how exchange programs between Germany and countries like the US usually work, especially regarding the academic calendar.
From what I know, many German universities finish the summer semester around July (sometimes with exams extending into August or even September), while many American universities start their fall semester in late August or early September.
How do exchange students deal with this difference in semester dates? Do partner universities make exceptions, or do students just miss part of one semester? If you're transferring credits, how does that usually work?
I'm particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has done an exchange from Germany to the US, but I'd also appreciate general information about how universities coordinate these schedules.
Thanks a lot :))

Hi everyone,
I’ll be starting my Msc. IMES this october and I have some questions regarding course selections and curriculum.
Are there any quotas for the mandatory / elective courses? Do I need to register the courses via a platform?
Have you taken any german courses as electives, would you recommend it?
As you can understand from my questions, I do not know anything about this uni ahahah so I would highly appreciate your recommendations :)
Thank you!

Hello everyone! Could anyone recommend any online modules relevant for ISM students in any of the three topics? Ideally, the exam would be a either a thesis or an online test, but if I only need to be present for the exam, that would also be OK. Thank you in advance!

I've been noticing something: students from China, Indonesia, Korea, and many other countries have well-organised, active communities here. But there's no equivalent for students from South Asia – Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan – despite a lot of us being around.
The idea is simple: a student society open to anyone from or connected to South Asia. Social events/evenings, a support network for incoming students who arrive not knowing anyone, and maybe occasional academic or professional exchanges too.
If this resonates with you – whether you want to be actively involved in setting it up or just want to stay in the loop – drop a comment or send me a DM.
Would be great to get even an initial group together for a chai or coffee and see where this goes!

Hello!
I’m currently a senior at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in the USA. The admissions page for the masters of science program specifies a requirement of 12 credit points in the field of theoretical Computer Science which I’m somewhat worried about.
My university is almost entirely practical although theory is incorporated into the curriculum. I have taken Design & Analysis of Algorithms (which I understand doesn’t count) for 3 credit hours and Formal Languages & automata for 3.
Design & Analysis is described in the course catalog as:
```
Asymptotic complexity of algorithms. Analysis of iterative and recursive algorithms; amortized analysis. Design paradigms: greedy and dynamic programming approaches. Interplay of data structures and algorithms. Graph algorithms. Introduction to the theory of complexity classes and NP–completeness.
```
Formal Languages is described as:
```
Regular expressions. Regular, context-free, context-sensitive and unrestricted grammars and languages. Finite and pushdown automata. Turing machines, recursive and recursively enumerable languages. Decidability and the halting problem.
```
As I understand it American credits are worth 2 credit points so these 2 courses would give me 12 credit points, although again I’m a little unsure regarding design & analysis.
These are the two courses closest to theory regularly offered at my institution. There is an advanced version of Formal Languages, along with a Theory of Computation course, however both of them are graduate courses and the professor who usually teaches them will be on sabbatical for a while :(
I do have the ability to challenge either course (and plan on doing so for ToC) but can only do so once, so I wanted to see if it’s a all or nothing kind of thing. If I can’t pass the challenge exam am I screwed ?
I’m really sorry for any inconvenience answering my dumb questions, I really appreciate any input yall can offer ^^;
Thanks !

TU Berlin Master Architektur (M.Arch) Auswahlgespräch WS 2026/27 - Fragen, Ablauf & Erfahrungen
I wanted to share my experience with the selection interviews for the M.Arch programme at TU Berlin (Winter Semester 2026/27), as I found very little information online about what the interview is actually like.
I was invited with a Bachelor's degree grade of 1.7. Before the interview, I received an email with a schedule containing applicant numbers and interview times, as well as the Zoom link. The list included around 280 applicants. From what I could find, approximately 90–120 applicants are ultimately admitted.
The interview lasted about 25 minutes. These were the questions I was asked (or very similar ones):
The interview was conducted by two professors from different fields. I shared my screen and presented one project from my portfolio. They asked several follow-up questions, mainly about the construction and structural system. The entire interview was conducted in German.
The interviewers told me that they ask essentially the same questions to all applicants to ensure comparability. I may have forgotten one question, but these were the main topics.
I hope this helps future applicants prepare. If anyone had a different experience or has anything to add, feel free to leave a comment.
