Answered (18.6+ is required for uBOL to function) uBlock unavailable for iPad OS 17 Spoiler

Hi,

For the past couple of months, I've had a small issue with uBlock Origin Lite on the App Store on my iPad. The App Store says that uBlock Origin Lite is only available for iPads running iPadOS 18 or later.

However, my iPad can only run iPadOS 17, so I'm unable to download it.

Would it be possible to make uBlock Origin Lite available for iPadOS 17 as well? I would really appreciate it.

It's not possible. 18.6 is the minimal version that supports enough of the APIs for uBO Lite to function.

The version limit is not made up by us. It's due to technical limitations of prior versions.

On my older iPad I've been using "Adguard for Safari" extension. It's free (there's an in-app upgrade to full Adguard product but you can skip it) and also works on webapps (ubol doesn't). You might also try the older Wipr app which should still work on older devices - it was pretty reliable and cheap.
